The poor pay taxes, and pay a greater percentage of their income to taxes than the rich do.

When the IRS takes money out of your paycheck and you get it all back (and then some) at the end of the year, how are you paying tax?

Maybe I don't know your definition of "the poor".

    Are you including sales tax?

the rich buy groceries - the rich pay property taxes
everybody buys food.....dip .... and anybody that owns property pays taxes.....moron.
    and corporate income taxes.
    clearly.....you have no noticable wealth

the president and the rich also gave us nationalized banks and securities after keeping all the money they stole.

thanks for killing capitalism and going socialist.

the fear campaign was meant directly for your kind. it only works on weakness.

    They do indeed.

But when you make $2,000,000 per year, even if you buy some of the best food available, you could probably spend no more than, say $140 per day or about $50,000 per year.

That makes the rich guy spending about 2.5% of his income on groceries.

As opposed to a someone making $1500 per month, and spending say $250 per month on food, and using up 16% of their income.

As I have said, the poor pay a larger percentage of their income in taxes than the rich do.

And if you want me to pity someone who spends $11,000 on an 11 year olds birthday party, you will be waiting a long, long time.

Percentages - well I live in Southlake so I pay a higher proeprty tax % than those folks living in Dallas County or Watauga or Keller. the sales tax is higher in our county than it is in Dallas too. I am in the highest income tax bracket as well. My brother is in the lowest and he pays $0 income taxes - what he pays in for the year - he gets it all back at refund time. He pays sales tax - but a lower percentage than I do.

The simplest solution to that situation would be for the poor bas to go out and make more money.

The only thing the federal government must do on my behalf is give me national security -- I will protect my own home if need be - and keep the roads clean and pot-hole free.
That whole FBI think is completely unnecessary. I'm sure the state government of Wyoming could easily handle the multi-billion dollar Russian mafia moving in and setting up a base of operations.

Who needs a Justice department when it comes to taking on a $100billion dollar company? I mean just because they happened to dump a few tons of thorazine into the water table that you draw your city water from, doesn't mean they won't be held accountable.

I'm sure private industry can be perfectly trusted to always inspect planes and train pilots. no company would be pressured to skimp a little here and there.

When a food outbreak kills a hundred people nationwide, 50 different state agencies can be expected to easily comb through hundreds of thousands of leads and find the culprit quickly enough to stop the next outbreak.

I should stick with my initial assessment and not respond to your illiteracy. Read the whole thread next time anus. I wrote that as a response to "the poor buy food and pay salestax" - but since you don't know how to read - have mommy sound it out for you and get back to me in an hour.

    You have no wealth.

The President ? Congress -- Nancy Pelosi - Harry Reid and yes those rich folks gave is nationalized banks and walked off -- free as birds with millions and millions that they stole when they should have been allowed to fail and been put in prison like the Enron / MCI / TYCO folks - but since they gave tons of money to Obamarx, Barney Franks - Charlie Rangel ( how in the blue is he not in guilty if Stevens is ?) and the like -- they get a pass.

now go get back to hooked on phonics son.

and when running a large company trying to do business in more than one state at a time, it wouldn't at all be bersome to have to figure out 50 different safety codes, 50 different versions of contract law, and then deal with 50 different standards for just about anything you can think of.

It works so well. Just ask the multi-national european companies about having 25+ different electrical plugs...

All I got to say is that I hope the Secret Service, FBI and all the rest stop any
    plot to assinate Obama.

First we don't need another martyr, we don't need more holidays and I know
the map makers would love it, reprinting all the maps with Obama's name plastered
everywhere. Cape Obama, just doesn't sound right. Obama International, ah, okay. Obama Ave.
    I guess.

you didnt read the whole "national security thing" ? Next time I will spell it out for you. My uncle retired FBI. I don't need nationalized banks - I dont need welfare or social security - -my great grandparents didn't need the "new deal" and I don't have any use for the New New deal.

Indeed it is. Not quite relevant to the discussion of whether or not the poor pay income taxes, but thanks for your input.

You already have to do that. You hve to have a license in any state you practice in accordance with the guidelines they set in each state. And their laws apply for collection and lending practices. and I dont give a rats arse what Europe thinks - says or does.

That is an awful lot to fall under "national security" I guess.

You might not ever need a lifevest or lifeboat when sailing on a ship, but your ticket pays for the cost of those things nonetheless and they are generally good things to have on ships.

The poor don't pay income tax...that is easily seen by filling out a tax calculator.
