Except for collateral damage, this is not a bad idea. BushCo has a little leeway to take out some of the bad guys in Pakistan and now Syria, and the next president can apologize later.

I think in the case of this war, if we stretch the border by a few miles, fine. Afterall, that's exactly where help for the enemy hides. They stay on the other side of a particular line that's not to be crossed, but they cross at will.
I would be surprised if this is the first time, and I hope it's not the last.
