Why are you voting for McCain? Well, from what I gather from your posts, you think Obama is just a token black candidate whose only noteworthy aspect is that he's black. It also appears you disagree with his tax plan, you disagree with his stance on abortion and you disagree with how he views the US in the grand scheme of the world. You also do not want to align yourself with the lunatic Obama s ... which is actually a pretty good point.

Why am I voting for Obama? I've already one over this a hundred times on the forum. First of all, I think the GOP needs to be burnt to the ground and rebuilt. They need to find their conservative beginnings. I also think Obama is a good leader who can hopefully inspire the nation. While it's true that he has a lot of dumb people flocking behind him, I think there's a chance he can get those people motivated into making the US an even greater nation. I disagree with a vast majority of his proposals, especially economically, but I don't think he'll follow through with his promises -- so I'm not too worried about that. I also think that if McCain wins, the backlash from the left would very likely put this country into a tailspin. The right will be mad but not nearly as mad as the left would be. Bottomline is I think Obama is the better man for the job right now, all things considered. He's certainly flawed but I'm hoping most of his flaws won't amount to much harm.

Although whottt has made some "out there" claims during this election period, I do have to give him credit for two things he called correctly. He said the VP debate would be viewed by more people than any of the POTUS debates. People called him crazy at the time. Even after the VP debate, people said that the upcoming POTUS debates would get more viewers. Turned out the VP debate was viewed by more people than any of the POTUS debates, just like whottt said. Props on that one.

Props number two is when he said McCain planned to conduct his mortgage buy-back scheme using bailout money. People said whottt was wrong and basically the entire media said that wasn't the case. Turned out McCain did plan on using the bailout money. Props on that second one.

Now if McCain actually wins the election, whottt is going to have bragging rights for all eternity

Any president without proper checks and balances is dangerous. Obama is even more dangerous than most because he has some outlandish policies that would hurt way more than help.

I'm geniunely curious about what exactly makes you feel Obama is so un-american... It can't possibly be his middle name. From every speech and every interview I've seen (and I've seen them all) Obama strikes me as someone with genuine concerns about the American people. I'm not crazy about many of his policies mind you, but I think he's got the right idea when it comes to foreign policy. Plus, I genuinely believe his a man of principle. An educated man... and I would vote him for that if nothing else.
