that was one game during a hot streak by the rockets. never did i say lakers would kill the rockets, just matchups arent in the rockets favor.

the grizz only scored 70 points.

they played a team trying to push the tempo so of course the score is going to be high. the same a lot of times when we played phoenix. we would give up a lot of points but still win because we can get stops in the 4th. the rockets locked down the mavs in the 4th. they are definitely scary even though their offense has a long way to go.

The Grizz were down 2 with 3 mins to go...
And Adelman said it best about the tempo... he wants them to run too whenever they can, but they don't want to go too fast as to lose control.
And I don't think the Rockets put many clamps in the 4th tonight. The Mavs just started shooting jumper after jumper and clanking everything. Every time jHo went to the basket, he basically scored.

Injuries smart ass. We didn't have Rafer (we only had him for two games) and don't forget, 12 of those 22 games came with Yao in the lineup. Plus, TMAC, Battier, and Rafer all were playing on injuries that needed surgery right after the season.

Basically, yes. Those two points were on a drive to the basket. It was the only time he actually went to the rim. But JHo is notorious for disappearing in the second half of games

Uh...okay. He was playing well when he was in during the playoffs. And please, don't think it'll be the same thing this year. You'll be disappointed. Our squad is a lot better and I can't believe you think the Rockets don't match up with the Lakers. We are pretty even (though the Lakers might have a deeper bench).

I love my Spurs...and I am not saying we can't beat them..but with all the match up problems we would have with them it would be an extremely tall order. They very big, athletic team that has three legit all-star caliber players.

The Lakers would have similar problems. Gasol is soft big man who would likely be bullied by Landry and Scola. With all those hard-nosed forwards they have I would even go as far as to say that Gasol would almost be useless in a series against the Rockets. This would leave Bynum and Odom to help Kobe shoulder the load...and Kobe would have his own issues because Artest would be hounding him the whole series. I don't see why Laker fans aren't more worried.

I wouldn't exactly say the matchups are in the Lakers' favor either. To answer your question as to who will guard Gasol when Battier and Artest on the floor, it would be who ever is playing power forward. Tracy McGrady is perfectly capable of playing minutes at the PG with Artest sliding to the 2 spot. Yes Gasol is tall, but Chuck Hayes gives Garnett fits, and I don't think Gasol is much harder to defend. Don't forget that Deke fully plans to re-sign with the team sometime throughout the season.

Honestly, Is Derek Fischer that much better than Rafer? Farmar is ahead of Brooks, but You never know how any of these teams will look come April/June.

The Rockets look solid. I was more impressed with their subs though, really destroyed the Mavs 2nd unit.

Mavs looked good in spurts but reverted back to the same jumpshooting team in the 4th quarter. Until they get a consistent 2nd scorer that can relieve Dirk, they're going to be losing close games this season again to good teams. Howard is still a fast starter, but not much late in the game.

Brooks was torching Terry. Artest played a great game on both ends. Once Tmac gets healthy, the Rockets are dangerous. I like their bench as well, lots of young energy guys. I didn't think their defense was all that, but I think they finally have the offensive firepower to make noise this season.

i picked the rockets and lakers to meet in the WCF. I also love artest's aquisition and wish the lakers picked him up for lamar.

i question the rockets offense. at time tonite you can see yao tmac and artest all trying to take over the game one on one. if they continue to do that, its not gonna work out for the rockets. lets not forget it was a 2 point game until 4 minutes left in the 4th.

Small Ball + Stack = losing....that reminds me so much of Avery. Let's hope Rick understands that you will not wiin playing that way. Mavs were up 83-77 and Rick inserts Stack and all of a sudden the lead is gone. Same happened in the 1st half when Stack entered the Rockets built their lead. If Stack doesnt show you anything when he first enters the game then Rick should realize he just doesnt have it that night. Too much Bass at center especially against Yao = no chance. Bass in spurts is fine but why the did you re-sign Diop if you dont plan on playing centers?

to clarify, fisher is ahead of alston in the sense that hes been there done that. you can count on fisher to perform consistantly. rafer, you dont know what u get day in and day out
