I wonder what Chic Fil A is giving out?
I could go for some nuggets, or a chicken sandwich.
It seems Starbucks is halting its plan to give voters free coffee today. It turns out that offering "gifts" cons utes a felony under election law in many states. So Starbucks retracted their ads and is instead giving a free cup of brewed tall coffee to anyone who asks today; whether they voted or not, and from the looks of the long voting lines I've seen today a tall cup of caffeine may come in handy when waiting in line to vote.

Starbucks: Giving away a free tall coffee to people with proof of voting (or a pledge of having voted)
Krispy Kreme: Giving away free star-shaped donuts with red, white and blue sprinkles (while supplies last) to people with an "I voted" sticker all day
Ben & Jerry's: Giving away a free scoop in any flavor from 5pm to 8pm to anyone who says they voted.

After waiting in a 3 hour line, you get to wait in another 3 hour line.
One Election Day food freebie rumor: Chick-fil-A would hand out free sandwiches today. However, that’s not the case — sort of. Apparently, the promotion was limited to some restaurants. But, well, the info spread wildly. That’s the Internet for ya.
Here’s what the Atlanta chicken chain told me via email:
“Chick-fil-A did not implement this type of promotion on a national basis. Most Chick-fil-A restaurant businesses are owned and operated by independent franchisee Operators. Some Chick-fil-A franchisees may have planned or advertised such promotions.

That's not good... that'll encourage more of the evangelical Ted Haggard vote.
