Sadly I didn't catch it until the last part, but I heard McCain congratulated Obama over the phone before he gave his speech. Class act.

and encouraged his supporters to show respect
and work with me
to make this country great once again.
I would ask those of you
who have been so vocal in your support
to also reach across the aisle
because God knows we have
a great deal of work ahead -
more than enough for those from both sides of the aisle.
Or, to use the vernacular some of you
may be more familiar with,
"be cool."
This would have been much more compe ive if THAT John McCain had shown up much earlier.
