Two different animals...don't try to say that me losing touch with the voting tendencies of the majority of Americans means I can't tell a ty President when I see one...I knew Bush was going to be arguably the tiest President ever, from the night he was elected on in 2000...I was amazed that night at the stupidity of the American people having elected him and the fact that he didn't lose in a landslide...I am even more amazed now at the stupidity of the American people for electing Obama.
Even more amazing is that the Democrats have managed to keep finding candidates rivaling or surpassing him in tyness...
He's going to be a far worse President than Bush was...far worse.

What has changed is that America no longer elects the moderates...we are turning into a polarized nation that jumps from one extreme to the other...like just about every other ed up country in the world.
We're becoming bi-polar. This leftist government we have elected, and by any standard in American history this is a leftist government...regardless of what your definition of one is, is going to result in more rightwing extremism...it's a negative spiral.
Instead of going forward...we're just going to be changing directions a whole lot, our elections will become less and less honest, our transfer of power is going to become less and less peaceful..the end result is a bunch of pissed off people going nowhere...like most of the countries in the world.
This government is going to completely on a segement of Americans, because it represents nothing of importance to them...and they aren't going to respond positively to that....they're just going to become bigger assholes.
Me? I'll get over it...I got over Bush, to the degree that I actually voted for him in 2004....but many aren't.

This thing really boiled down to a smart people versus dumb people election. The rational, the educated, the people who can exercise independent judgment, they broke heavily to Obama. The paranoid, the fearful, the dumb, the mean, the racist, they went to McCain.

I won't argue that choosing between two extremes is a healthy way of running a country. I just disagree about how far left you believe Obama is, even if from the American point of view, he is futher left than the norm.
