Manu![]()
Manu's overall impact on the team is maybe 30% of what Timmy brings to the table. We wouldn't be much better even if he were playing right now. Our bench sucks, our D sucks and we look old as ..
I'd love to see if Ginobili could subs ute Duncan's numbers and impact in these first 3 games..he can't..
Manu doesn't fix our rebounding and defense problems..
I don't know about MVP, but he's certainly better than Tony Parker.
sure, he would get a few steals and bring energy, but he doesn't help our terrible rotations ALL GAME..
what he said, and unfortunately, Duncan isn't what he used to be, Manu is a sever injury risk, And TP needs both of them to truly be effective, he can't carry the team, he is a glorified role player, possibly one of the best role players of all time. but still just a role player
I just don't see this team going anywhere until they get another potential all-star, or if mason can be that guy. By the time Manu Gets back, Duncan will be exhausted, and he won't get a break because this team will still have to play balls-to the-wall every game just to make the playoffs. and I don't believe Manu will ever be healthy for a full season again with his style of play.
we need something else, anything, even marbury might help![]()
he is the MVP in the 4th quarter of the entire NBA
+1. Spurs got so used to him taking over games last year that they don't know what to do now in crunch time.
Manu is a very important part of our team's 3-headed MVP. I would put him far below Tim, but probably a little ahead of Tony if we're rating their importance to the team.
Manu got the team involved offensively more than any other spur last year. Barry in regular season was probably #2 spur to get the team involved.
and you guys are shocked that we r losing??
Mvp!! Mvp!! Mvp!!
We'd look horrible without any of the Big Three. We looked horrible last year with Tony out and we look horrible now with Manu now. Everybody knows how we look without TD.
Atleast we were winning games when Tony was out...
During the last season, Manu took control of the situation while Tim and Tony were both out at different times due to injuries. I think Robert Horry mentioned that Manu was the Spurs MVP of the regular season last year and gave them a place in the standings. Not to mention his 37 pt wins against the Mavs and Jazz with Timmy out were very impressive.
I think ultimately, it's not just about players playing well. It's about fighting to win a game. Showing a ton of intensity and passion for the game. Manu is someone who just goes beyond during games. He gives it his all. And I think the Spurs miss that intensity and that passion. He just does not want to lose. Not to mention that Manu tends to always get the ball in his hands if the game is extremely close. He's the closer of the team. So that's also something that is missing. Even in the last season, when Tim or Tony were out, Manu was still taking over games and willing the team to wins. He just has that something extra.
However, for the Spurs to be a huge contender this year, they need Manu, Tim, and Tony to be in full strength and ready to play. The Big Three are basically the MVPs of this team right now. You need all three playing at their highest level considering the tight compe ion going around from the other teams. I honestly don't think that one player is the MVP of the Spurs anymore. As much as I appreciate Timmy, I still think that all three players are equally important when it comes to winning a championship. At this point, I would call this team The Big Three's team. I mean, they've been playing together for years and have won 3 championships as the leaders of this team. They all bring so much to the table. I think calling the Spurs only Tim's team right now wouldn't be fair to Manu or Tony. Teams win championships, not one single player. And I think it's truly time to start calling the Spurs Tim/Manu/Tony's team. It's a proven combination.
He's simply the MVP because he takes over whenever we don't know what else to in do...
