tolliver is a player...he showed me enough in summer league. he gets spurs basketball and has a very high bball iq...bonner, well, he has red hair.
In one game, Tolliver has done more than Bonner has edit ever done.
Bonner, get used to sitting next to Vaughn.

If Bonner is in the last year in his contract, he should be waived immediately, but knowing the spurs, he probably was extended for 5 years and his last 2 are max deals.
Pros for Tolliver: Better passer, better-looking shot, quicker feet defending on the perimeter, and more active around the basket
Pros for Bonner: Stronger, and red hair
Man, this is a tough one. I really like Bonner, but he needs to sit unless it's an emergency.
Bonner played 13 seconds tonight.
About 13 seconds too many.
why do you like bonner? cuz he wears a spurs jersey? come on!
I like Bonner because he has the right at ude for the team, and I just can't hate on him. But like I said, he needs to sit and be traded.
Stronger? Chubby does not equal strength!![]()
Bonner, Finley, Vaughn to Chicago for Nocioni??
The Bulls aren't going anywhere. Finley is a hometown guy... who knows.
Actually you can usually find a team willing to take a veteran steady PG...
Maybe Toronto would want Bonner back, he seemed to be a fan favorite for them.
Finley
Oberto
JV
for
Nocioni
Parker/Hill
Mason/Manu/Farmer
Nocioni/Bowen/Udoka
Tim/Tolliver/Bonner
Ian/Thomas
I liked what I saw out of Tolliver. He had two passes that were better than anything we've ever seen out of Bonner ... or even Kurt Thomas for that matter.
Defensively his pick and roll defense was actually pretty damn good and he showed a lot of activity. If he can start hitting three-pointers at a 35-37% clip, there's really no reason to ever play Bonner again. Tolliver's basketball IQ is about 500 times higher than Bonner and now Bonner plays so scared that he doesn't hustle as much as he used to.
Yeah, those two bullet passes to Tim were great.
Don't forget Tolliver's putback on the missed Mason FT....
1-4 sucks but at least RMJ looks good, Hill has had his moments and now Tolliver looks like he can help. If the Spurs can just survive until they get their backcourt healthy, those three young players plus Mahinmi could make this a pretty damn good team.
However that survival part of the equation is going to be tough . . .
I disagree. I don't see any of these players making a legit contribution. Look, just because someone can wear a spurs uniform correctly and is taller than 6 5 and supports Obama doesn't mean the Spurs can win.
Winning is an art which the Spurs lost after Game 7 against the hornets.
Dream on.
Thanks for making my point.
That you're basically a angry little person who knows very little about NBA basketball?
his even then malik rose....
Tolliver was the bright spot of this game. Udoka still needs to become more consistent, but he did have a couple of good defensive plays on Wade. I like Farmer's aggression, but he just doesn't look skilled enough to be a consistent scorer - could be he's still trying too hard. I don't think it's a bad idea to waive Farmer and pick up Hairston. If it was that close, why not go with the guy that has more all around skills - Farmer's here to score and he doesn't look like he's going to get it done. Give him a couple more games, but keep Hairston in the pipeline.
Might as well get Hairston on this team NOW and get him some PT.
Chicago's not that stupid. Keep dreamin.
Tolliver looks far better in one game than he did at any time in the preseason. That first pass he made to Duncan was really nice. I'm optimistic about this crew of young guys; they might end up costing the Spurs a few ping pong balls.
