Uh, McDyess can't "soon" resign with Detroit. By my count, he has 20 something days left on his 30 day mandatory waiting period. He can't practice with them, or use their facilities to rehab or work out.
Sorry, didn't quote that part, I figured Spur fans would know about that part:

One last note here: Don't forget that McDyess, assuming he clears waivers, will will have to resist other offers for 30 days from the time the buyout is completed before rejoining the Pistons, as seen last season with Brent Barry going back to San Antonio after the Spurs dealt him to Seattle for Kurt Thomas in February.

Did anyone else read this rumor?

Spurs to deal for Knicks Eddy Curry?

One such team could be the San Antonio Spurs, who have a history of making trades with the Knicks and desperately need additional scoring. The feeling is that by playing alongside Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, Eddy Curry could resurrect his career under Spurs coach Greg Popovich. One major stumbling block is that the Spurs may not have enough assets to satisfy the Warriors in a three-way move. -- NY Daily News

Regarding Eddy Curry, here's the first paragraph of John Hollinger's scouting report:

Curry might be the single worst defensive center in basketball. He jogs back on defense and is easily beaten down court by opposing centers, even after made baskets. In the half court he rarely helps and often doesn't even turn his head to see who's breezing past him for a deuce. New York's already abominable defense was a whopping 6.2 points per 48 minutes worse with Curry on the floor.

Translation: Curry will NEVER play for the Spurs.

rumer here in LA is kupchak might go after him. lakers only have 14 players on their roster and have the MLE as well as the Minimum to throw at mcdyess. Mcdyess probably has the best chance at a ring with the lakers and would fit perfectly in the triangle with his jumper and Defense

Add MyDyess waive Bonner. Even last nite he got no time. We have more than enough 3 point shooters. Finley is simply awful---maybe he should regain 15 pounds.

I dont see why Mcdyess would go to LA to be coming off the bench when he could go to other teams and play more minutes and be a starter.

Mcdyess would be a shoe in with the spurs but right now he probably views them as a sinking ship

Exactly. If he had any desire to come to S.A., the recent losing stretch would probably work against their pursuit of him.

His contract was bought out. He can sign for anything.
Yes, once he clears waivers. While he's on waivers a team can pick him up but they get the full contract thus the team has to be under the cap to fit it in. Someone mentioned picking him up off waivers.

Hahah, sounds like it's going to be much more than just "talk" now.

Seriously, do you have to get on your knees and constantly act like you enjoy blowing the Pistons? When we kick your asses next Friday, you wont feel friendly toward Piston fans.

If the Pistons end up beating the Lakers in the finals, I KNOW you wont be friendly towards the Pistons. Stop pulling off this act of being a nice classy laker fan. You are an obnoxious son of a Laker fan who pretends to be a humble unbiased fan. You are full of you know it.

I'm still pretty high on McDyess but now with Parker out, can you really afford to waive Farmer? Waiving Finley or Bonner would be fine but I doubt the Spurs swallow those contracts.

Although, with as dead as Oberto and KT look, you have to go after McDyess.
Right. The Spurs are in an impossible position, in some ways. The problem is they are long, long shots to land McDyess.

I think any trade to cut dead weight for half alive weight would be fine. Finley and Bonner, as you smartly point out, are the deadest of dead weight.

Nope, the only one blowing the Pistons is Yo Mamma.

I've been a Sheed fan so that's made me like the Pistons. Besides that fact, Vinnie's a cool dude.

And on top of that, your Pistons don't worry me, and there's no rivalry since you haven't been able to get to the Finals. I'd much rather see the Pistons in the Finals than the Celtics.

    So Off Piston fan.

    So Off Piston fan.

So you were a fan of Sheed during the massacre of 2004 that ENDED the Shaq era in Los Angeles? I highly doubt you were this generous to Piston fans that summer considering what took effect.

You'd rather see the Pistons in the finals because:

    a. You want revenge from 2004

    b. You think the Pistons would be easier than the Celtics

    c. You think the Pistons stand the best chance at beating LA

    The obvious answer is b.

In terms of me ing off, you first Laker fan. This bull act you are pulling is so ing obvious. I've meet mother ers like yourself who have tried to pull off that act of being all badass with Piston fans in 2004. They were more intimated of the Pacers and felt the Pistons wouldn't be a series to be worried about. So they start becoming all nice and generous to us. Then after game 1 and especially games 3,4,5 of the finals, they are cussing up a storm yelling " the Pistons" and showed their true colors of being haters. The fact that the Pistons werent that nice little team that would be a 5-6 game series win for the Lakers set those fans off for a shocker.
