Since 1989, when the Spurs drafted Sean Elliott, they have only had one lottery pick.
Only one lottery pick in 19 years!
The other NBA teams have been stockpiling lottery picks for 19 years, while the Spurs have been stockpiling wins and championships. Now time may have caught up with us.
The spurs problems are on D and rebounding. That trend started a couple years ago and has gotten woarse over the last three seasons. If the Spurs are gonna stick with the 2010 plan, then it is likely we will suffer this year and be a lottery team or at best 8th seed.
A healthy spurs team in the 8th seed wont be an easy out but I cant see us winning a le from the 8th spot.
Ian can help if he plays the way the spurs expect, but I am clueless why we have not made a move yet. S Williams is riding the pine in NJ and they have made it known he can be had. He would be a perfect fit.

If he gets starter mins he would avg 10ppg 10rpg and 3-4 blocks pr game, are you telling me that wouldnt help out a bunch.
You dont know much about basket ball, the spurs are losing cause they cannot rebound or stop guys in the paint, Williams can do both.
Wade, Shaq, D-Rob, Hakeem, Duncan, Billips, Ray Allen, Garnett, Jordan, Horace Grant, A-Daniels, Thorpe, Kenny Smith, Danny Ferrt of the top of my head.

That's kinda the point. Good teams get low picks because they don't need help. Bad teams get good picks because they do. That just means the system is working.

Oh, waaa. Woe is us. We only got one lottery pick and ended up with one of the two easiest picks in the draft and one of probably the top two or three players in the NBA to come out during that stretch.
