SAN ANTONIO With the New York Knicks taking on the Spurs, it was great to see Malik Rose back in town Tuesday night.
Malik still has a home in San Antonio, and that big contract he has with the Knicks is almost up.
So I asked him if he wants to come back and end his career as a Spur?
Of course, Malik replied. I've always held out that hope that I'd be a Spurs again one day. After this year I'll be a free agent. I'll be looking for somewhere else to play. Hopefully, my plans fit with theirs. But if they don't again there will be no hard feelings. I'll be somewhere. I'll be playing somewhere.
Eff that ^! I would take him back. I always liked Malik
Take him. An actual Free Agent that wants to play for SA.
If he wants to sign for peanuts, then fine.
Yeah, just what we need, another 35-YO guy that can't even get off the sorry-assed Knicks bench for more than a few minutes a night.
Malik's time is past.
yeah we can't just buy our championships. We actually drafted our own great players and developed them.
he can't play 4 pop
malik sucks, can't get his head out of the gutter with his night-life persona, and just isn't that dedicated to working on his game.
like i've stated before on this forum... it's fine to do what you want in life as a bballer so long as you live up to your contract and going out to a strip club the night before a big game is not my definition of living up to your contract.
malik and his gross ass philly cheese steaks.
Well there will be no more Kurt next year....so why not sign Rose....I know that he sucked in NY, but I'd take him over Bonner anyday!
bravo. tanking a season to get duncan is not developing one great player.
That was re ed.
most people call it cheating.![]()
lets see how tolliver works out....
The Spurs need yet another way past his prime bigman.![]()
over bonner? i think that's tolliver's job atm.
That ship sailed years ago.
He'll be 34 in 13 days!![]()
says the fan whose team lost the Duncan-stakes and unashamedly tanked '07-'08 (and also lost.)
Malik on a minimum contract in an end of bench role? Couldn't hurt. He'd do more good sitting on the end of the bench mentoring Tolliver and Mahinmi than Bonner would just rotting away.
Malik isn't the guy he was years ago. Don't you think he misses winning? I am sorry, playing on the Knicks is a humbling experience than makes you appreciate a team like the Spurs. All of that crap he had to put up with during the Isiah years makes a man out of a boy. I say he would be willing to come here for anything offered, even the vet minimum. He misses playing here and I say anyone who wants to play for us, we should sign them up!
