after the buzzer it was just running in the background. so all i heard was kobe saying gasol is a uva a player too or something.
Tell that to the Mavericks, they seem to think stockpiling moral victories will give them bonus points come playoff time.
"We tried really hard for 3 quarters! Yay for us! Sure we sucked a fat one in the fourth, but.......we tried REALLY REALLY REALLY hard for THREE WHOLE QUARTERS!!!! Do you realize how hard that is?"

He said something along the lines of: "This is what we play for, going on a back to back into a hostile envirement against a good team" He sounded pumped.
I thought the Mavs played a wonderful game, and would have won it if not for the literal 20+ or so bad calls that went against them.
lakers just beating a team they are supposed to beat. the mavs in suck
Mavs owned the refs 1st quarter
there were some questionable calls in favor of the lakers, particularly the foul on dampier when it was a clean block.
but lets not kid ourselves, the lakers deserved this win mainly because of trevor ariza's hustle and hustle points.
and was quickly made up by the next play
who cares about the refs...its better that the mavs lost bc it would just have given some mavs fans a false sense of hope for the season
is it true that between the 3rd and 4th quarter break, the Mavs played a song on the jumbotron clowning the Lakers and all the Lakers were watching it pissed off?
They did play it not sure they were pissed off per se ...it said something aout Mama dont let your babies grow up to be Laker fans ...great arena even highers seat have good sight lines ...but they play cheesy videos every quarter ...hey had Jason Terry's head on Micheal jackson in the "thriller video" (Yes it was THAT bad) and Dirk over Napoleon Dynamite in the dance scene ...
Laker games do not do cheesy crap like that plan to go to AT&T for Laker game this year I hope Spurs keep it clasy like their team and will be curious to see if Laker fans will dominate like we did in Dallas last night
So you were one of those ing idiots in attendance last night? Good for you.
From the recap:
Nowitzki passed up a potential tying shot, giving the ball to Stackhouse, who missed. After a defensive stand, Nowitzki shot an airball on a 3-pointer. After yet another defensive stop, Nowitzki passed to Stackhouse in the corner and Ariza came flying in to swat a 3-point try out of bounds with 1 second left on the shot clock. The Mavs wound up with a shot clock violation, then Pau Gasol scored a three-point play on the other end to seal the victory.
I could name a couple of Mav favored calls as well. Bynum and Odom got no love from the refs. But I feel the game was quite fairly called.
The refs aren't gonna get every call right but I thought they did a pretty good job of giving out calls evenly.
28 free throws for the Mavs
26 free throws for the Lakers
There's no need to favor any team. It's safe to say the officiating, all-around, has been terrible so far this season. Do they even whistle for traveling any more?
STFU you just arent nuanced in the ways of the ref.
Are you trying to specifically point me out on this?
This loss was Carlisles fault. He let the reserves stay in to long and get into a hole before bringing back the starters. When they started to nut up he should have called a timeout and brought back the starters. He also played Gerald Green a little to long as well. When your team starts to stumble it's the coaches job to call a timeout and get the team refocused. Carlisle waited to long to make that decision. That five minute window was the difference in the game.
I have to give some blame to the refs as well. This game was called heavily in the Lakers favor. They beat up and Raped Dirk the whole game and he couldn't get any calls. Come to think of it no Mavs players were getting any calls. There were some drives to the basket that looked like football plays that weren't getting called.
It was a kind of "let them play" game, not many foul calls either way. Dampier got alot of his rebounds by pushing Bynum or over the backs. But the refs let it go both ways. A much rougher game than usual but no love going to any one particular side.
The Free throws and foul calls were evened out so there was no favoritism to either team. You can't ask for much more than that from the refs.
