Yeah, the FSN broadcast showed a very uneasy hug between Beno and Pop after the game. They both looked like they wanted to puke.

Good win...again, nothing to get too excited about, Sacramento is usually a team we're expected to beat. Good job Spurs.

And I don't blame either of them. Beno's got every right to hate Pop.

    Final: Spurs 90, Kings 88

For the second straight game, Tim Duncan helped the Spurs finish strong on the way to a victory. Duncan had the Spurs' final two baskets in a 90-88 victory over the Kings.

Duncan finished with 20 points including the tying basket with 49 seconds left and the go-ahead basket with 15 seconds left. Michael Finley led the Spurs with 21 points and Roger Mason Jr. had 18.

There were eight lead changes in the fourth quarter.

John Salmons led the Kings with 31 points. Former Spur Beno Udrih had 16 points and four assists.

    FOURTH QUARTER

Tim Duncan scored to tie it 88-88 with 49.5 seconds left in the game.

The Kings lead 81-79 midway through the fourth quarter. John Salmons has 29 points including the Kings' last basket.

It looks like it will be tight heading down the stretch. The Spurs made a 7-0 run and took a 73-72 lead on a Roger Mason Jr. 3-pointer. The Kings answered and lead 76-75 with 8:45 left.

    THIRD QUARTER

The Spurs finished the third quarter with an 8-2 run. The Kings still led 72-68.

The Kings made an 11-4 surge. They went ahead 63-55, matching their biggest lead of the first half.

Sacramento's John Salmons has two 3-pointers and a three-point play early in the second half. The Kings lead 55-51.

    SECOND QUARTER

Tim Duncan and Michael Finley had 10 points each as the Spurs took a 43-42 halftime lead.

The teams traded baskets late in the half and there were seven lead changes in the last three minues of the second quarter.

A Finley basket put the Spurs in front 34-33 for their first lead of the game.

Matt Bonner has a basket and a 3-pointer in the second quarter. The Kings lead 31-24 midway through the quarter behind 12 points from John Salmons.

    FIRST QUARTER

Sacramento's John Salmons scored 10 points to lead the Kings to a 23-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Salmons was 4 of 5 from the field in the quarter. The Spurs were 6 of 21 shooting (28.6 percent).

Tim Duncan has eight points but the Spurs trail 21-15 late in the first quarter.

Michael Finley had the Spurs' first basket and Tim Duncan had four points early. They're looking for some help as the Kings have jumped out to a 12-6 lead.

    PREGAME

Spurs starters: George Hill, Roger Mason Jr., Michael Finley, Tim Duncan and Fabricio Oberto.

New Spurs guard Blake Ahern is in uniform and active for tonight's game.

The Spurs beat the Kings in seven of their last eight meetings. The Spurs could use another victory against the Kings tonight to build some momentum following Friday's victory over the Houston Rockets.

A victory tonight would also get the Spurs off to a good start in the first game of a road back-to-back. The Spurs are in Los Angeles on Monday for a 9:30 p.m. game against the Clippers.

The Kings had won four of five games before losing to the Suns on Friday.

Sacramento's Kevin Martin, who has been known to give the Spurs fits, is averaging a team-high 22.4 points per game. He hasn't played since Nov. 9. He is expected to miss tonight's game due to a left ankle sprain.

On Wednesday night, former Spurs guard Beno Udrih scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Kings to a 103-98 victory over the Clippers. Udrih is averaging 11.8 points and 4.1 assists.

A note on another former Spur: Robert Horry spent part of Sunday afternoon at a restaurant near the Spurs' practice facility having lunch and watching football.

We held the Kings to 45%, by the start of the fourth quarter they were shooting about 52%. This team is great.

Vaughn and Bonner played absolutely well.

Tim with an exact 20-10 game tonight. Glad he got back to his rebounding numbers. 'Twas annoying to hear people question his heart.

Good win for the Spurs, they gutted it out. But I do wish that they would stop getting themselves in holes and having to fight tooth and nail to win the games. I wish we could just put a team away for once.
