Extremely true. Beno has a good game and we could have really used him had Pop ever gave him a chance.
Finley, Vaughn, Bonner. Great games for us. They stepped up!

pop gave beno several chances
where have you been
beno also had 5 turnovers tonight
It always is.
great win for the spurs considering this team is just duncan and scrubs. still concerned about the interior presence of the spurs but the return of two all stars means the spurs can only get better.
Meh, he didn't help himself by not coming to camp in shape and by dragging out every little annoying injury. I predicted Beno'd make the all star team at his next stop after San Antonio, but he's still a ing pussy, and Pop's never going to like players like him. What pissed me off is that Pop picked up his option knowing damn good and well he was never going to like the guy or trust him enough to let him play.
Bonner just upped his trade value.
It's annoying when he looks so gutless when going for rebounds. He looked like a different player in that respect tonight. The Duncan from two games ago wouldn't have gotten half of those tough boards in the 4th quarter that ended up being the difference in the game.
Beno is doing good because he plays for an average NBA team, but SUCKS on a championship team
It is annoying, but we're spoiled. We expect greatness from him every game, every minute. He's not always going to do that. But he usually gives us all he's got on any given night. His heart is in it, even when he's having an off game.
I don't know that expecting a career double digit rebounder to keep the other team from getting a thousand offensive rebounds is expecting greatness, and If he's going to play 40 minutes, then they need to win the game. Wanting him to be the leading rebounder on the team is one thing, hoping he can out-board both his starting guards is another.
Go rewatch the seasons he was here again.
He had mul udes of chances.
Beno is doing good because he's an extremely talented player playing for a coach that is willing to suffer primadonnas in order to get wins and keep his job.
If he plays this well more often, why trade him?
Great game. Even better that we got the win.
Duncan did his thing and we got nice contributions from Finley, Mason, Vaughn, and Bonner.
Finley still has some miscues but I'm really liking how he's moving without the ball and even attacking the basket some. That dunk was Finley like 5 years ago.
I'm leaning toward the idea that he needs to stay out of foul trouble as long as he's the only one of the big 3 playing. His effort on offensive boards really changed when we lost Parker. He can't be in the middle of that mess on every play without a higher risk of fouling.
His rebounding has always amazed me. He'll be under the basket with a zillion guys and somehow it's his fingertips that rise above them all. I think he'll be back to his usual numbers when he isn't carrying the offensive and defensive load.
I heard that argument the other night when someone made it, and it makes some sense until you realize Timmy had 2 personal fouls against Houston for the game and had 2 fouls in the first 47:30 of the Milwaukee game. That's a sign of passivity, and when you couple it with 5 rebounds per game, it's alarming. I never thought he'd do it twice in a row; I'm glad he didn't do it three times so we can stop talking about it now.![]()
I don't think that too much to expect Duncan to register at or near a double-double. He's been a 20-10 machine all of his career. It was good to see him have a solid rebounding effort (10) versus the Queens.
Very insightful, that makes a lot of sense...
oh, and anyone who ever questions Tim Duncan's WARRIOR HEART is a MORON.![]()
Just a question before we stop, what would you attribute the passivity to?
Beno Udrih is a talented player, but he is no where near all-star caliber - not even close.
Once again, the Spurs pull off a gutsy win. I'm really proud of this team![]()
Damn, i'll have to wait for the highlights to see Fin's dunk. me.
what was up with the refs totally ignoring Moore shoving Vaughn out of bounds....that play warranted a Technical...possibly a flagrant.
