At this point the only guys seriously in contention are Kobe, LeBron and Joe Johnson everyone else is just honorable mention. Again, at THIS point which is far too early IMO
It was too hard to post, so I'll put the lineup here, and you can click the link to actually read each comment.

5. Dwight Howard
4. Chris Paul
3. Kobe Bryant (shocking.)
2. LeBron James (I didn't see that one coming.)
1. Paul Pierce

no love for Duncan probably because of the losing record...
How is DWade on there? Heat have a sub .500 record.
Duncan's not on the list because of the Spurs record.
Wade's Heat are #8 in the East and I think have a very good chance at making the Playoffs.
I think Lebron is MVP by default (Cavs look on track for 55 wins) and LeBron is stuffing the statbox.
However, if Kobe can get to 70+ wins, I think he'll get the MVP.

Ya know...this time I actually read that list and was getting more and more angry with each passing number to NOT see Paul Pierce.
Then I saw him number one.![]()
Duncan the best big this season, yet he still isn't on the list. Fox too stupid to factor in the 38 pts lost because of the 2 Allstar backcourt members being gone?
I have no idea how these ers get jobs writting about they know nothing about. KG and Amare are both es, they are two of the most overrated players of all time. KG is so soft, at 220 he is moved off the block with ease and he never takes the big shot.
Amare is just gay! He scores because nash sets him up which is way no one wanted him when they tried to trade him the last two years.
Howard has a ways to go, he puts up good numbers but has yet to prove he is a game changer or that he makes guys around him better.
Roy is Tim Duncan as a guard and will likely never be given serious consideration.
Joe Johnson, poor defender but can do it all on the offensive end. Right now TD should be in the top 3!
Makes no sense. The Spurs are in the 8th spot right now too, and they are without Manu, Tony, and Ian. Plus, the Heat are only 1 win above the Spurs. And, the Spurs are 1.5 games behind the Rockets, and the Heat are 2.5 games behind the Magic for the division le. It seems more likely that the Spurs can win their division for homecourt than the Heat could.
Of course, its still way too early, but those were just some of my thoughts.
the record is the problem if the spurs pull it together they will bring it up about how when Manu and Parker were out Duncan solidified the Spurs' ship and carried the burden, helping the new guys and winning a few games but he won't win it regardless. Unless the Spurs win 60 games or beat the LAKERS every single time they play dUNCAN WON'T WIN, HE WILL GET HONORARY MENTION LIKE ALL THE OTHERS
Having Wade on the list is a bit weak, I agree.
The only way Duncan will get consideration is if Spurs win 75 games and he puts up 30-15-5-5
Don't worry, he'll get an HONORABLE mention too guys.
Duncan as valuable or more as any of those guys and not just for his stats which are impressive as usual.
Shoulda been Lebrons last season. It will be his this season. But then again, this is a mickey mouse award.
Then why were you trying to justify it by saying he deserves to be on it more than Duncan??![]()
If you put Amare, Garnett, Pierce, LeBron, or even Kobe on this team that Duncan has, do they still get the all the hype for MVP?
LeBron and Kobe probably the rest not a chance
Duncan is playing like a beast this season. that's all we need to know. no need for his name on stupid lists.
G.O.A.T >>> Mvp
