I think that he is Ok ...I dont like his corny humor but that is just me ...I spent a lot of time on the road recently going back and forth from Houston 2 Dallas and to me most of the guys rarely let the listeners talk i think the best shows have either great insider info like the (Mickey Spagnola Coboys stuff) or interviews with the athletes ...my main issue with the show he says "I'm turning it over 2 the people" but he hardly does and if THEY do not agree with his takes on Spurs or Cowboys he cuts them off 80% of the time. And there are many time when they get in to "anti Houston rants" especially vs. Texans but also against the Rockets I dont lile either teams but there are some supporters of those teams here in SA ...

I have to admit, that email seemed thoughtful and articulate, and had some very good points. It kind of changed my mind. I still don't like the show but readily admit I am in the minority.

I still think the show is too juvenile, but can accept how that sells to the vast majority of knuckleheads out there.

I still believe that the show should devote less time to Taylor v Jim talk, but can understand how some people like that.

And I still want a focused "spurs talk" radio show during the nba season, but I can understand how that would be difficult to fill 3 hours of just spurs talk.

Finally, I have no interest in the fact that a user's email is blocked, or someone has a personal fued with the show. I just don't particularly care for the show, and I no longer listen to it. They have a constant stream of childish nonsense, which I can only assume attracts childish callers, emailers, and listeners. The show just doesn't interest me, but it damn sure interests somebody, or it wouldn't be on the air. I guess after reading that email, I can seperate the radio personality from the guy.

I agree with Peter Burns I remember JT the Brick being very active on his message boards. And I used to get an email from Andrew Ashwood at least once a week or he would at least post at the old WOAI site. even Jay Mohr sends me an email hours after I email him.

To say your to big or to busy to care about the www is an excuse or a cop out. No one is that busy. Mike chooses to avoid message boards because it takes a real man to face your critics. Don Harris ,David Chancellor,and others avoid the message boards also, they don't understand that the negativity is temporary and if people see you on the boards after a few days they will know you really care about what others have to say and the harsh insults start to fade away as many will say "well at least Peter Burns post here"


Peter Burns can tell you his lame reputation is almost all but gone, and I rarely see anyone bashing him or his show anymore. Could it be Peter has proved himself to be a man of the people and not of his ego?

I have not talked to Jay since the last comic standing were all his students from his comedy class made it to the finals. Even Drew Carey walked out on one of the shows as a judge after he noticed the fix was in.

I checked out the Andy Everett show today it wasn't that bad, I wish his guest Mr.Burns could talk more, but other than that, is was interesting to listen to. I wish they had a live blog during the show I wanted to chime in on one of the topics. They talked about how San Antonio did not get the Final Four games due to the old bomb shelter the Alamo Dome.

I wanted to call in, that has not happened since ESPN started their show a few months back. I wonder if Peter Burns will let us use this topic to ask him and Andy a Question or two for Monday's show?

I will also tune in to the Mike and Jim Bob show today I want to be fair and balance about my opinions.

Andy Everett said they Stole money from San Antonio who ever got the final four. I disagree you have to have something first before you can have it stolen, Why can't another city host the games? Who made San Antonio the mecca for final fours? Maybe the folks who decide where the final four takes place is tired of Mexican food and walking up and down the river all day.

There could be a million reasons why they did not pick San Antonio. Maybe I will call in Monday to let Andy have it mighty mouse style complete with all the deliverance sound effects and a nice MLK sound bite when I exit.

Speaking of Live Blogs: I've noticed that STSA's blog is few and far between now. I wonder if it's cause people were starting to complain there too about boring content on the show. Bob Stoops talk??

There are three main reasons why people stop posting at forums and blogs in my opinion.

#1 They don't want to have to worry about having to walk on eggs s. no one wants to have to watch what they say. Who wants to post somewhere if you can't say what is really on your mind?

#2 No one likes a place where they go to read something they posted earlier and it's gone! Locking a topic is lame enough but to completely erase a topic or post is borderline China/Nazi censorship. Unless someone posts child porn, or something that is very upsetting to see then there is no reason to erase something someone took their time to post.

#3 No one likes to post at a blog that a radio station promotes and tells the listeners to post at and then during the show they don't respond to the blog or they skip over certain posts. They only read the posts that they think should be read on the radio.

They cherry pick what they want to read,which only reminds the poster of reasons #1 and #2 and thus the person behind the keyboard losses interest in the show altogether.

It's their show, they are God, and they will do what ever it takes to make a paycheck.

My experience of living here in San Antonio for over 35 years is that nothing besides Charlie Parker is permanent on the radio. The funny thing is that Jeff Vexler and others also avoided being in touch with the real listeners and you would think that someone with a computer would snap and figure out what the public is asking for. This kind of behavior reminds me of Adolf Hitler who knew he was losing the war and instead of surrender he put his head in the sand and started to recruit the very old and the very young to fight his war for him. Unfortunately I don't see Mike and Jim Bob in a basement drinking a cyanide pill anytime soon.

I don't like Mike either but do you think the cyanide is a little over the edge?
