what?
You know, I gave the guy a chance when he got here, even though I know he was a Mavs suckass fan. Because Eric Gray was too and I enjoyed him. But I am thoroughly fed up with his non-existent Spurs talk. THIS IS SAN ANTONIO. He starts his shows with Cowboys or Longhorns talk. Throw in some of his ty non-funny bits, followed by more Cowboys talk. Toss in a call or two (and only gives them about 10 seconds before cutting them off by saying “No thanks Man”), followed by more Cowboys talk. Then the only funny part of the show is when his fat ass sidekick, decides to read some texts from listeners (who are ten times funnier than they are). Then capped off with more Cowboys talk.
Yes, this city loves the Cowboys, but were are a Spurs first city….PERIOD!! The day after a Spurs game, I’m ready for some Spurs talk and this asshole gives us his take on what Jerry said today. I know the people from Clear Channel who hired him, sold him on the idea that it’s a huge Cowboys market and he could talk Cowboys endlessly. But his obvious hatred of the Spurs is clear to anyone who pays attention. And I’m fed up with it. It’s bad enough this jackass has to host Game Night React; which is another thing that pisses me off. I listened to React after the Bucks loss…it was only 15 minutes and no callers. WTF!?!?! For God’s Sake, the city with the 4 time NBA Champions deserves better that it’s getting from it’s sports radio stations.
Can’t they just admit they made a mistake bringing him here? It’s so sad when I’d rather hear Andy Everett for my Spurs talk.
Speaking in my official capacity as the self-appointed President For Life of the Dawn Murphy Fan Club, I'd have to agree wholeheartedly with the above statement.

i hate him and jim bob...they are not funny...they fired the others cuz of the iverson thing right...these guys are much more offensive and thier obsessive use of the word "d-bag" , "puro" and "holmes" is down right dumb i couldnt sound more ignorant.....i rather listen to 1250am....i gave him and chance and i end up changing.
I listen to them online and I think they're blowhards. I give Taylor credit for utilizing his Dallas contacts in order to "beef up" his show, but he and his bits have become annoying. I also don't like his abbreviated version of Spurstalk. I thought it was just me and perhaps I wasn't giving him a chance because he's from Dallas. So I'm a bit surprised that others have found him annoying too.
Better listen while you can...

Never heard of any of them.
It amazes me that the dude is still on the air, but its those same people that keep listening and calling his show that keep him on the air. They obviously like to talk about the Cowboys more than anything and Mike Taylor caters to them. I think he is more annoying than anything. The guy tries to come off as hard and like a know it all.
If you get a chance, give us a shot in the morning. We are pretty Spurs heavy. Obviously, ever host has different strong points. As many people complain at Taylor for going heavy on Cowboys, you should see the amount of emails and texts from the people that love the amount of Cowboys talk.
If you look at the local sports guys in SA, each have a stronger background in a certain sport.
Mike Taylor - Cowboys/Guy Talk
Coach A - High School/College Football X & O's
Duel - Cowboys/Spurs
Minnix - High School/Cowboys
Andy Everett - Spurs / WNBA.....lol
Me.....College Football...Cougars.
Again, take a listen to our show in the mornings, we're pretty Spurs driven.
Anybody see the recent post-game press conference, immediately following TP's injury? This was the one where Taylor asked Pop if he planned on giving the offense over to George Hill. Pop looked at him, rolled his eyes and then asked if anyone had any real questions. Too funny.
Agreed, the guy is a ing joke.
I wish I would have. That would have been great.
I have to agree with Peter. The morning show is good when it comes to the Spurs and Cowboys. They mix in college football as well. Its a good mix and show overall so far.

haha exactly
Point taken Pretty Boy. But what happens when Cowboys season is over. He'll spend a month whining about why they lost and try to avoid as much Spurs talk as possible. God Damnit, that's not how it's suppose to be. Maybe those dumbasses at Clear Channel should take some advice: STOP HIRING GUYS FROM DALLAS!!!!
And by the way, I do listen to the Morning show. Well, as much as I can. It kinda conflicts with the Lisle and Hahn show, of which I am a devout listener.
i listen from 730 to 400....everett and burns took an hour of dan patrick!!! but if its gonna give me my spurs talk im down for it. i got tired of rome and listen to coach A. i rather listen to cowboy talk cuz they sound more intelligent than taylor cowboy talk.....taylor is pathetic and the fools that feed into him buy calling him and acting like dumbasses too is what keeps it going....he is a puro dbag holmes!!!!
Lisle and Hahn were funny about 6 years ago.
Can't even post this on normal name. Pussy.
Agreed. He talks more about the Cowboys water boy that the Spurs. It would
benefit the San Antonio sports community greatly if he would take his act
down the road with Jim Bob. I do have it from an inside source that Jim Bob
is actually a puppet and Taylor has is hand well you know where.
Here's your wish......the great Kori Ellis of SpursTalk.com on the show...

you know, I lurk more than anything, but this topic requires a post:
This is the WORST damn show I've ever heard. I listen to ticket all the time, but when this show is one, I honestly just turn the radio off. I'll listen to hippos humping before listening to this show on most days. Hopefully someone at ticket 760 will read this:
My Complaints:
1. Too juvenile. I mean honestly, those are the best jokes, porn star friday? "I'd hit that"? These dudes are just honestly not funny, not creative, and boring.
2. Cowboys. We don't live in Dallas, this is San Antonio. I think the Cowboys must be paying 760 to shove these shows down our throat. I'll listen to cowboys talk, even though I'm not a cowboys fan, because at least they KNOW something. The Taylor and Jim dudes are just fanboys. Very annoying....
3. Lack of any Spurs knowledge. Not a person on that show has a clue about the Spurs. Unbelievable that they have jobs in San Antonio.
4. Personalities. Both of these guys are completely uninteresting, yet they think we want to hear their constant banter with each other. Maybe this one is unfair, but these guys seriously irritate me.
anyway, if anyone from ticket reads this, replace those three hours with polka from 1965 and you'll draw better ratings.
"i rather listen to 1250am"
I honestly didn't even know I had a choice for sports talk. Thank God. I like 760 all the way up until 2pm, then I'll give the other station a shot.
Wow! Again, I thought it was just me. I have some familiarity with Taylor, as he hosted Gamenight on our local ESPN Dallas affiliate (103.3 FM). He's from Fort Worth, so it was natural that he was the biggest Mav and Cowboys homer. He'll even tell you that. That's why I wondered how that would translate when he took the job in S.A.
I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, at first. However, he's failed to impress. His show is nothing more than the usual cess-pool of juvenile schtick, Cowboys talk, guy talk, with some Spurs thrown in. To make matters worse, he's now hosting Game Night React on WOAI. From what I can tell, he goes to games, goes to post-game press conferences, goes to practice from time-to-time.
I guess what bothers me about him, is I find him more style than substance. I'm not really interested in his off-handed, half-baked opinions, his on-air pranks or his country-fried lingo. I guess I was expecting to get more factual, focused, Spurs coverage than we're getting from this crew. I'd be curious as to how they're doing in the ratings war.

I could not have said that any better myself. In fact, I didn't. This paragraph sums up my feelings perfectly.
On a positive note, I do like the "Sports Grind" that comes on @ 6pm for my drive home.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like the show. Obviously, there are some middle-school antics but that seems to be standard protocol for afternoon drive sports talk here. I think they do a pretty good job covering the Spurs but people have to take situations into consideration. We're talking about games 1-7 in an 82 game season when you can't really judge the team yet because they have not been healthy versus the meat of a critical 16 game season. Talking heavy NBA right now is like talking baseball during the NBA playoffs. I noticed most of the people who complain are either cowboy haters or non-cowboy fans who despise the cowboys (yet claim not to be haters).![]()
