I'm honestly surprised MJ scored 50 thirty times, though I should have expected it.
Also, didn't Antawn Jamison have both of his 50 point nights back to back?
MSNBC has an interesting feature on NBA players who have scored over 50:

Proud to see the Spurs proudly represented on the list.
If you've got the patience to click thru the entire list of 100, try to guess how many Spurs you'll find. I missed one.

I got 4 out of 5. I missed Terry mings.
I'm not sure about Jamison, but I do know that Bernard King got 2 of his 50 point nights on a back-to-back - during a swing through the Texas triangle, no less. He got them against both Dallas and San Antonio on consecutive outings, back in the early 80's.
I know it was back to back games, and I think it was back to back nights. Kobe had 50+ in one of the games to. Pretty fun to see two guys drop 50 in one game.
That gives you something in common with that year's All-Star game.
wow alonzo had a 50 point game, I did not know that.
only 4 times for Bird? what the ?
also gotta love seeing Bob McAdoo on that list. Gonna go see his nephew play bball for my ol' HS on Monday.

i know robinson has that 50 pointer vs. the wolves, and the 71 point game, what and who did he play for the other 50 point games...shame no real video exists other than a guy with a camcorder under the rim exists for that 71 point game.
100+ for Wilt? wow
Yah, I vividly remember how Kobe insinuated that Jamison's 51 points was a fluke, then they played the Lakers and he dropped 51 more in a win over that puss.
He averaged 50 ppg one year (61-62), so, it's not that big of a surprise.
All I can say is WILLIE M-F'N BURTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...and I'm really surprised David Thompson only did it once.
Nicely played -- particularly since TC's 52 came immediately after he was denied a place on that year's All-Star team.
Are you only counting them as recording their 50+ point games "as a Spur" - because there are more than 5 players on that list that scored 50+ that played for the Spurs?
Nothing unexpexted here, Kobe is a known hater and .
It was two games in a row, but it wasn't back to back nights. It was Dec 4 and Dec 6 2000. And yeah, he and Kobe both had 51 in the second game - Warriors won in OT.
Magic's career high was 46 back in December of '86 against Sacramento.
I went to that game vs Charlotte Hornets
TC was just a monster that night.
I was surprised Reggie Miller only reached 50 once.
It's hard to expect many even great TRUE point guards to look to score 50+.
But Tiny Archibald did something I don't ever think will be repeated. Lead the NBA in scoring and assists the same season. Damn.
I think Robinson scored 52 points on Mourning and the Hornets to set his career high. He later shattered that with his 71 point game
Yup, and this was when the whole league was on Mourning's jock when he was yelling and kissing his biceps and snarling at every little play. I don't know if it was his rookie year or shortly after, but Robinson put him in his place, it was cool.
Wilt Chamberlain
1962-63 : 44,8 ppg 24,3 rpg
1961-62 : 50,4 ppg 25,7 rpg (80 games 1597 FG 835 FT 4029 pts)
1960-61 : 38,4 ppg 27,2 rpg
1959-60 : 37,6 ppg 27.0 rpg
Ridiculous !!!!!!!!
