I wish I had some vague idea of how much money I've spent on Dr. Pepper and Big Red in my life, actually I'd rather not know...

Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality. The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.
"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."
Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.

You don't have to buy the Guns N' Roses album nor be a fan of the band to take advantage of the Dr Pepper offer. It is available to all Americans......men, women, and child.

If the servers are down, they should probably extend it past today.
Smart. Give away free stuff on sunday and then have your website shutdown.
Its probably just high traffic, which I'm sure they anticipated but didn't do a damn thing to prepare for.
I got one for my wife and myself around 9AM.
The kicker? They mail you a coupon - in 4 to 6 weeks - and you have to use it by February.
And I thought my "guess tonight's score and win a rookie card" topics from the 90s was cheesy.
Isn't it just easier to spend the $1.29 or whatever to buy the soda and not give your name and address away for junk mail lists?
