Have you seen any good Do entary's or bad ones you would like to comment on? I was doing a search one night and I downloaded a few.

I know I am behind the times but I saw this month the following Do entaries.

I found it fascinating to watch given the history of what I already suspected with Fox news. It was refreshing to see I was not alone in my opinions.





Last night I saw a very entertaining Do entary about ENRON

War Photographer- it's a do entary about James Nachtwey, probably the world's pre-eminent war photographer. Just an amazing film. Unbelievably truthful exposition of the eye behind the world's most inflicting photography. Couldn't find it streaming, but trust me, if you can stomach it and you're not a blood thirsty Republican, it's mos definitely worth a download.

Problem with today’s do entaries, is they are generally propaganda. Michael Moore for example makes pure propaganda. Only morons think his material is a do entary.

I’d say the best recent do entary I saw was Good Night and Good Luck. It shows Murrow as the vindictive ass he was. Shows McCarthy speeches, but doesn’t lie about the content. It just lets Murrow lie like he did. It was done in a way that the casual observer doesn’t know, but it has Murrow persecuting McCarthy. Not the facts.

I hate Michael Moore. I haven't even seen 9/11. I won't argue that, no doubt he has an agenda. I think he serves no functional purpose other than alienating the right. But as I have often heard, independent fact checks of his movies (Sicko which I have not seen yet, in particular) say he is scathingly accurate in terms of the facts and statistics he cites.

Beyond that though... You're so dumb Cobra. He's a ing do entary film maker. You can't just dismiss his factually accurate work as wholly un-do entarian in nature because it's also a commentary. It's not propaganda if it's factual. It's a do entary with a commentary agenda, like plenty of other do entaries out there.

And Good Night and Good Luck was a feature film. Was it a historical depiction? Yes, but it was still a feature film and it was damn sure not a do entary. You can't just re-write the rules of film genre because of your own ed up politics.

You really need to watch Fahrenheit 9/11, then fahrenhype 9/11 to see the whole impact of the way Michael Moore-on lies. A comparison of the two is a real eye opener.

I don't really count Moore as a do entary film maker anymore. The messages in his films, even when they are compelling as in Columbine, are obscured by the liberties he takes and the resulting (and deserved) nitpicking by his detractors. Too bad, really.

Maybe if you wasn't a lieutenant in the Sean Hannity Army I might believe you but just because someone who has a different tie on during a do entary does not make it false. Sometimes you have to show many different clips to get your point across. Look how many times movies like Saving private ryan or letters from iwo jima use the same footage of the marines coming off the boats getting shot.

Also the facts out weigh any so called agendas. Like the fact that our medical system is a joke and he exposes it is not a lie. Maybe he does have an agenda to expose this administration. You can say that about almost any do entary. The do entaries about the Jews was to expose Hitler. The do entaries about racism is to expose the KKK and so on....

The man has won many awards so I doubt those people give that out to just anyone with a camera give the man his props.

Also how can you not watch a film based on who made it? and then expect to comment on it? I don't like Andy but if he made a do entary about how only s get the good jobs in the Movie industry then i may want to see for myself before I criticize him.

I wouldn't call our medical system a joke, but it does have problems. Moore takes facts, and twists them into lies and propaganda.

It's the way he takes people out of context. If you watched both Fahrenheit 9/11 and Farenhype 9/11, you would see at least three people the Moore-on had in his film rebutting how they were portrayed, and telling the truth of what they said, and how Moore lied. The Oregon state trooper says how Moore lied. So does the Vet who lost his limbs and the school teacher (principle) when president Bush was reading the book.
