When I compared stats, I think t can be argued that Hill is better than the 9 and 10 spots, but whatever. This is the paragraph they put about him:

George Hill (SAS) received some lofty praise followed by some heavy criticism by Spurs coach Gregg Popovich when I asked Pop about his rook the other day. "I think he's an intelligent young guy with an extraordinary mental toughness for a young kid," Popovich said. "He's one of the best young defenders I've seen come into the league at his position." Not bad, but now he lowers the boom: "At the offensive end, he needs A LOT of work."

Ouch Pop, why'd you have to call him out like that???

35% 3FG and 79%FT isn't too bad, and he's averaging 11 in 23, very good for a rook from a "small" school, since we know the division has everything to do with the individual players talent...

    , timaios beat me.

EDIT: We have different things, mine is more of a ten best list, his looks at all the rookies, or at least 50 IIRC.

You know the media isnt gonna give SA any credit. The fools at ESPN had hill ranked 26th. Several players ahead of him are crap! Hill is a top 10 rookie as of now, his numbers are gonna dip when Manu and TP get back 100%, unless we go small alot, but Hill is a player.

If he becomes a good shooter he will be a beast!

I also think Hill's one of the bsst young defensive point guards I've ever watched. He has great wingspan and an unmatched toughness for a rookie.

On the offensive side, he does have some weaknesses:
    1) poor shooting mechanics, he wings his shots up rather than using his legs to add momentum to his shot. This leads to bad ball rotation and either a make or a brick. He ain't getting any "friendly rolls".
    2) His shooting style is inconsistent, he needs to develop his form and stick with it. Right now, he either makes them or they're very ugly misses.
    3) He doesn't have lateral agility with the ball in his hands. He's great in a straight line.

For now, he's going to be a very streaky shooter, if he can work on it he can really be a fine player.

Pops being honest. He isnt trying to dog the kid out. When you break it down his offensive game DOES need refining. Not necessarily his scoring ability but the finer points of the nba game like when to push it or when to slow it down. How to set up teammates better, etc. There are so many nuances he can improve on. Thats a good thing too because when he gets it all down and he becomes "seasoned"...boy oh boy!!!

Pop being Pop. Hill is getting a bit of the "Tony Parker" treatment but to be honest TP had it a lot tougher back then.. Pop really has mellowed..

This guy is already good on setting up his teammates, I like the way he create open shots for Bonner and Finley. I think, he just need to learn how to get himself open for easy basket.
