If Dr. Pepper gets their servers updated in time...
Got it today. Great album, and Axl sounds as good as he ever has. There's not a wasted track on it. And even if you aren't gonna get it, you can still enjoy a free Dr. Pepper![]()
If Dr. Pepper gets their servers updated in time...
Albums have rarely been the problem with GnR. It's always been about getting Axl to show up for gigs on time...or at all.
Listening to it right now. So far through 5 tracks, I can honestly say I don't hate it. Kinda expected major suckage without Slash, but I can see this one growing on me...
I told you this album was gonna be pretty good 2 years ago..

I might have to check it out.
Most of the negative reviews are based on the fact that it took a while for it to release and no Slash. It's a great album.
it is a pretty good album. There are some very complicated arrangements on this album and lots of players on the tracks. Funny how they use to get that full sound with just slash and izzy
No Slash.....I'm not listening.
I think I'll live.![]()
You can hear how Slash sounds like without Axl in Velvet Revolver and Snakepit. Now it's Axl's turn.
I think Chinese Democracy is outstanding, personally. I've heard most of it for the past two years tho.
Does Axl really sound great? I was a big fan when GNR first came out, but I also remember years ago when he was on MTV Awards and his voice just sounded terrible. He was unable to hit the high notes, and just sounded like he was struggling. I'd be happy to be wrong though he was a great frontman when he decided to perform.
Axl does sound great.
Awesome CD.
Lived up to my high expectations.
Funny how people think GNR would suck without slash yet velvet revolver is crap. Probably just an excuse to hate the new album without listening to it.
Slash wasn't my problem with VR. I can't stand Scott Weiland.
lol i didnt realize this was 1995
also lol at all the s who think theyre cool for saying theyve liked this album for years. i wish i was cool like you
Is Buckethead on lead guitar still for GNR? I hope so that guy is amazing
he quit about 2-3 years ago, but a lot of his work is still on there. bumblefoot replaced him.
Good album, but it is not GnR.
ok, so the only songs that I have heard were Chinese Democracy and shackler's revenge. Chinese Democracy didn't leave any kind of big impression on me. Shackler's Revenge sounded like white zombie and korn had a very untalented child who decided to go into the family business. Full Disclosure: I have never liked GnR, but it was mainly for Axl's voice, I thought the lyrics and the music was good, but couldn't listen to it because of that crappy screech. I am really surprised that I don't like it now since Axl has completely lost his voice and sings like any other guy now, I guess the music just flat out sucks now.
I enjoyed the album. I didn't go into it expecting Appe e or Illusion type stuff. I went into it with the same expectations I had for the new Megadeth album and I enjoyed it. Some of the songs sucked balls but some were good. I'd give it a few more listens.
So I listened to the song Chinese Democracy again, and I have figured out his voice. He sounds like Lane Staley trying to sing like Axl Rose. That sucks because it is insulting to Lane.
Are you ing kidding me?
Axl's voice is in full swing and he even improved it over the years.
Great to have this unique voice back on the airwaives.
Love the 90's rock sound.
