How the do the Spurs find these guys so low in the draft?

We can’t even put together a good team with lottery picks every single year.

Bulls aren't a great team, but I think that was a good win. Hill was a beast.

Tyrus Thomas with the move to end it too.

No. They don't have a PG anything remotely like Hill to run their offense. It makes all the difference.
Thats false. Jordan Farmar is very comparable to Hill overall and more experienced.

    Final: Spurs 98, Bulls 88

    FOURTH QUARTER

Manu Ginobili's second game was better than his first and George Hill came on strong early in the fourth quarter to help the Spurs beat the Chicago Bulls 98-88.

Ginobili, who had 12 points two nights earlier in his season debut, had 15 points and four assists in his first home game of the season.

Hill scored eight points in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter to help the Spurs solidify their lead. He recorded his first NBA double-double, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He picked up his 10th rebound when he tipped in his own miss with 4:16 left in the game.

And if the Spurs wanted defense, they came through with it when they had a chance to put the game away. The Bulls had only one basket in the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter, when the Spurs went on a 13-2 run to build an 89-73 lead.

Tim Duncan had 21 points and eight rebounds.

Hill opened the fourth quarter with a pair of free throws and a few minutes later had back-to-back baskets. That sparked a 9-2 run and the Spurs led 85-73 with 8:30 left.

    THIRD QUARTER

Manu Ginobili scored eight points in the last six minutes of the third quarter and the Spurs finished the period with a 76-71 lead. Ginobili has 15 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field and 5 of 6 on free throws.

Ginobili has 11 points and four assists and is starting to find room to drive through the Bulls defense. The Spurs are on a 16-4 run and lead 72-69 after back-to-back 3-pointers by Ime Udoka.

The Bulls put together a 13-2 run and were starting to pull away. The Spurs got a basket from Manu Ginobili and a 3-pointer from Matt Bonner to shift the momentum and cut the lead to 67-63.

The Bulls' Drew Gooden got on a roll early in the second half. He had eight points in the first five minutes of the third quarter and the Bulls took a 60-56 lead.

Roger Mason Jr. hit a 3-pointer at the 10:45 mark of the third quarter. That had to be a good sign after Mason and Michael Finley were a combined 2 of 14 from the floor in the first half.

    SECOND QUARTER

Tim Duncan hit 7 of 10 from the field and had 18 points to pace the Spurs to a 45-45 halftime tie with the Bulls.

The Spurs went with a really small lineup late in the half - guards George Hill, Roger Mason Jr. and Manu Ginobili on the floor together, along with guard/forward Michael Finley and Duncan as the one big man.

Duncan is eating up the Bulls, especially when Aaron Gray is guarding him. Duncan had five points in just over three minutes in the second quarter. The Bulls put Joakim Noah back in for Gray.

Duncan got a long rest. From the time he left in the first quarter until he returned at the 6:42 mark, he was out for 7 minutes, 42 seconds of game time. He returned with the Spurs leading 34-30.

Kurt Thomas hit a pair of free throws with 9:13 left in the second quarter to give him six points. It marked a season high for Thomas, who had scored a total of 27 points the first 13 games of the season.

    FIRST QUARTER

Tim Duncan got off to a fast start and Manu Ginobili had six points in the last 3:11 of the first quarter. The Spurs finished the period with a 25-24 lead on a tip-in at the buzzer by Kurt Thomas.

The Bulls were having a tough time with Duncan. He had 11 points, three rebounds and an assist in the first eight minutes. The Bulls started with Joakim Noah playing defense on Duncan. Next came Aaron Gray, who fouled Duncan twice in his stint. The Bulls went with Drew Gooden defending Duncan for about two minutes until Duncan went to the bench with 2:06 left in the quarter.

Duncan had three baskets and an assist for the Spurs' first eight points as they went ahead 8-6. The Bulls made a 5-0 spurt and went ahead 11-8.

Manu Ginobili came off the bench at the 7:00 mark with the Bulls leading 9-8. Unlike two nights earlier when he made his season debut, his first shot didn't go in.

    PREGAME

Spurs starters: Roger Mason Jr., Michael Finley, Bruce Bowen, Tim Duncan and Fabricio Oberto.

Bulls coach and former Spurs guard Vinnie Del Negro got a nice round of applause when he was introduced after the Bulls' starters.

Manu Ginobili is back, Tony Parker will return soon and the Spurs have won five of their last six games heading into tonight's meeting with the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls are in the sixth game of a seven-game road trip. The are coming off a 101-100 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday.

Parker hit the floor about 40 minutes before game time. He was dribbling and running up and down the court. He took a few breaks to talk to a fan along one sideline and pass the ball back and forth with a little girl at the end of the court. Parker looked like he was running well straight ahead, but didn't do any side-to-side movements.

    Spurs/Austin Toros update:

The Toros played their second of two Developmental League preseason games on Saturday, losing to Colorado 120-104. Malik Hairston, who was with the Spurs in training camp, had 20 points and Marcus Williams had 16. Ian Mahinmi, who is part of the Spurs' roster but has been slowed by an ankle injury, played 23 minutes and had nine points and two rebounds. The Toros open the regular season on Friday.

the only negative i saw in tonights game, was the poor 3pt shooting by Finley and Mason.......those two have been super hot lately, and were due an off night....just wish it wouldnt have happened on the same night.....at least we got the win, so their poor game didnt matter.

If Hill keeps this up, he will definitely have to be in consideration for Rookie of the Month....I know his minutes will go down when Tony comes back, but at least he can win himself the November Rookie of the Month award, before returning back to the pine for the rest of the year.

    Not to ruin the parade

Oberto 1 rebound in 15 minutes
Scola 18 rebounds in 35 minutes

But wait Oberto can pass and play off Duncan.

    Oberto is worthless.

Hey-oh! Where are the signatures now that were so common this summer saying that the FO sucks? Where are the polls asking if Pop or RC should be fired?? Ha!
