Seriously, it is such a relief that the Spurs have players who can take it to the rim apart from the B3. Having to rely on a lineup that includes one dimensional "scorers" like Finley and Bruce (no offense to either) was getting painful and was making the offense predictable. One at a time is not so bad, but when BOTH are relied on to play 30+ minutes...

You want your reason for the scoring droughts? Every Spurs opponent knows what those guys can and can't do which put too much pressure on Tim Tony and Manu. If the jump shots weren't falling, there is no plan B.

With Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, Hill and Mason every once in a while, they have 4 1/2 players who can get to the foul line.

Not being able to get to the free throw line is an absolute killer in the playoffs. I've been uncomfortable with the increasingly feast-or-famine approach from the three-point line that has evolved over the past few years. Hopefully this will be a sign of things to come.

We need a big who can consistently get to the line 4-5 times a night. If they couldn't collapse on Tim every single play, it would make such a huge difference. It would probably extend his career a couple of years, too.

Even in his last season before retirement, Robinson could do it - but we haven't had that on the team since then.

Nice call! That was exactly what I was thinking! Here was what HAD happen for the Spurs to win in the playoffs last year:
-Big 3 scores 85% of the points
or
-The Spurs shoots lights out from 3

With Hill and Mason being able to get to the whole too, the Spurs can change the pace of the game from getting the team in foul trouble and get points from the foul line when things aren't failing.

Last year, players like Udoka, Barry, and Finley all were decent Role players, but they needed other playmakers to be effective, which is difficult because the Big 3 needs a break when they come in.

Yeah Roger doesnt finish as well as the rest. He just doesnt have the body to finish off a drive. Hes to skinny. But what the heck let him shoot the ball. He already shoots better then anyone on the team. Manu might give him some heck, but not just yet.
