It's called having a PG and finally having a team constructed well.
I think he has FINALLY turned the corner
His game has improved in every area. His scoring is down but it's not a concern coz he is doing everything else well. He is rebounding at 8.8rpg, he is getting 4.4apg and he is playing decent-good defense
Billups is surely helping the team and is definately helping Melo. The Nuggets won tonight even though they played bad down the stretch.

The Boston win was unbelievable, but aside from that and the two losses, the schedule has helped a lot.
Chauncey leads by example, and I think that's helped Carmelo fall in line. Nuggets are probably my favorite team to watch outside the Spurs now.
17 shots a game at 39%
I said back then during the Olympics that Melo seems to have matured.
I think it really was a career changing moment for him to be with all the other winners and him being the black sheep of that 2003 draft.
Melo isn't a winner.
Actually, he is. Led Syracuse to NCAA championship, two gold medals in international play, including an Olympic gold. He hasn't won at the NBA level. And, he might be a punk , but you can't say he isn't a winner.
Let me rephrase, Melo isn't a winner in the NBA. Dude's like what, 4-20 in the playoffs with a shooting % hovering around 40. Apathetic at ude, punk, etc.
There are a lot of great players that aren't winners in the NBA.
And, there are plenty of role players who aren't very good that are "winners" in the NBA.
1. Olympics
2.?????? Tournament of Americas back in 2007?
Yes, the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship. Gold medal in international play.
@ a Mavs fan talking about not being a winner in the NBA. A 2-0 lead in the finals only to lose, it's not only losing but it's hard coz choking. I won't even go into the whole Warriors story.

Melo seems to have upped his all around game, but he needs to pick up his scoring and shooting. Hes shooting below 40%. If he can get back to his 25 a night up near 50%, to go along with his all around game - he might be talked about as an MVP candidate.
chanuncy is making him better
Melo's PPG and % have gone way down since Chauncey came. Everyone else is better though, Melo just needs to get adjusted.
melo % went down but chauncy is taking the leadership role and helping him by taking pressure off of melo some
yeh definately ducks..... Chauncey brings the leadership that Melo quite frankly can't offer at this point.
@ a Nuggets fan poking fun at our playoff failures. When was the last time you won a playoff series? The Sonics in 94????
No matter how you want to slice it, we'll win this cripple fight no matter what.
Regardless of our playoff failures, Dirk is a winner by my book. Good at ude and good work ethic, and doesn't have a drastic dropoff in statistical output in the playoffs unlike Melo... and also isn't 4-20 in the playoffs... unlike Melo.
Dirk is a winner? What the has he won, except a contest in how to destroy an exercise bike? Actually he failed on that one as well.
Dirk spells 'win' like this - C H O K E
A winning at ude, on and off the court unlike Melo. Just because he hasn't been fortunate enough to wind up on a roster capable of winning it all doesn't mean he's not a winner. If that's the case, winners and losers are determined by luck rather than ability.
What the are you still here talking trash for? Dirk has made it out of the first round five times, five more times than Melo. Go pick on somebody your own size - like the Memphis Grizzlies.
