I got a ticket to tonights game with a parking pass, and a suite guest pass. Since I have never been in the suite...what exactly does that mean or include? I may be in the dog house for a bit for accepting the ticket since I only have 1 ticket.

BTW I did not win this ticket a friend of mine is not able to go.

I'm not sure about SA, but in Utah the suites include like minimalist appetizer food (like chips, candy, pretzels) and beverages (including beer) for free. They have a pay menu featuring really nice entrees, wines and liquors. The suites themselves contain a few chairs, sofa and restroom and like sink/bar/mini-fridge area. The seats are really good. You're kind of high up, but nobody is in front of you and it's a real enjoyable place to watch the game from. Similar to the front row of the upper bowl.

There will likely be a mix of people- some like you who are getting hooked up as a third party, some lower level company people and some republican, executive corporate schills, some with wives, who will be sharing the suite with you. It may be uncomfortable, because just as likely, they won't know much about basketball, they are just there to be pampered. You will be expected to schmooze with these people before/after the game and during halftime. Some will be discussing economics. Very few will know who George Hill is. Have fun.

In Phoenix the suites are all dependent on the suite owner. The suites range from having nothing in them to having bomb ass food and free everything in it. If this is a suite owned by a business or a law firm it's probably got some from stuff, if it's owned by a minority owner then it probably has nothing in it, however the owners in SA might not be as cheap as Sarver and gang.

Corporate suites get used to entertain customers/vendors, etc. And lots of times an exec will be there with some old friend (and maybe their wives). They usually aren't as... enthusiastic?... as a lot of other fans. If you are taking a friend's place, just be a little cautious. He could be on the hook for anyone you offend. I wouldn't mention it if I hadn't seen it happen a couple of times.

One other word of caution - generally, whatever food or drink is there, help yourself. But I watched a guy open a bottle of wine from the fridge, not knowing that the COO had it brought in especially for himself and his guest, who was a wine connoisseur. It wasn't a good career move.

suites are horrible. i've been in them twice. i rather sit in the nose bleed section. None of the people in there go for the game, they just sit in the back of the suite and talk. It is also weird yelling during the game while in a suite.

    Winner

I really enjoyed the seats, the view was great, but the people in there...not so great. There were two families with kids and two of the little kids were real snots. Id say there was about 12 people in all including the suite owner and his wife/girlfriend. Oh an there wasnt in there, but some chips and salsa. Kind of sucks because the suite next door had all kinds of for free. Anyways the best part was the view and the parking, I had a premier parking pass. If I ever get 1 ticket for a suite again, I will not go by myself. Aside from the enjoyment of the game the atmosphere was boring.

If you ever get to share a suite with a bunch of real fans (you know... riff-raff), it can be a lot of fun. When there are wives in the suite whose outfits cost as much as my car - not so much. I can't even imagine having to share it with some little butt-cheek kids. Did they bring their GameBoys?

Did they bring you mid-game stat sheets during halftime? I always like that.

Sorry you had a bad suite experience. The ones I have been in have always been the ones with tons of food, drinks, desserts. etc... More food than you could ever eat. I just sit out front and yell my head off and not care about what is going on behind me. But I actually did not enjoy it as much as my regular seat. I turned down suite tickets after a while.

if Im not mistaken I thought that all the food has to be pre ordered or bought upon arrival but it doesnt just come with the suite it has to be paid for. I was sent a cartering price sheet for a rampage game and it was off the charts...80 bucks for a bottle of goose...

yeah if you want anything you have to pay, the waiter will only bring beer by the six pack. And when the suites are loaded it is because the suite owner has stocked or prepaid for the food and drinks. The beers up there are $7.75. Im sure it would have been great with some friends and even some minor refreshments. I guess I cant complain about going to a game for free.

We get into the "suites" at the Round Rock Express games about once a year (I know it's minor league baseball - but still about the same). My wife's employer doesn't stock the suite at all so it's pretty much just elevated seats with a waitress for the same food that costs more. A few of the suites are super loaded though - and obviously the Ryan's suite is stocked very nicely.

or drink is there, help yourself.
That's a little risky. I've been to enough and rented enough suites in my time to know that it all depends upon what package you got. They're not all the same. You could have everything from a refrigerator stocked with beer and wine and a buffet set out to "service only" which means you get the room, the TV in the room, and a waitress if you call on her and pay for everything like everyone else.

A few years ago that situation was pretty ugly when a few guys who weren't familiar with the package at a Rampage game just started knocking back the beer already in the fridge. They were the only ones doing it and about 20+ beers later they were presented a tab for about $100 bucks and couldn't pay it. Like GSH, since it was a corporate event...not the best night for their careers. The GM had to put it on the corporate card and they looked like bags.
