does that mean they lose their 1st round draft pick next year? I'm curious how that deal for Thomas was worked.
I'm serious dammit!
The pick for Thomas IS lottery protected, meaning if the Spurs miss the playoffs, the Spurs keep that pick. If the Spurs make the playoffs, they turn that pick over to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
So are you saying they traded a lottery protected 1st round pick for this next draft, but it becomes nothing if they're in the lottery? Seems odd...
You should ask someone in the Trailblazers organization this question. They've been the foremost authority on lottery questions the past five years.
Thanks.
You bet.
People are touchy around here these days.
good one.
Here's an impersonation of a typical tlongII post:
Hey guys, if the Spurs' bus carrying the entire team were to have a head-on collision with a tractor trailer and burst into flame, leaving a pile of smoldering bones behind, who do you think would be the first d-league guys they'd call up to replace Duncan, Manu, and Tony? I don't mean anything weird by this so don't, like, get all offended and defensive!
Resurrection thread for when the Blazers flame out.
Not gonna happen. At least for the next 10 years or so.![]()
yes we lose our pick next year.
In retrospect that seems to have been a very bad trade.
Your question in the 1st post was "does that mean they lose their 1st round draft pick next year? I'm curious how that deal for Thomas was worked."
And my answer was "no".
Too difficult for your brain ?
we lose our pick, pop gets fired, bonner is promoted to starting pf, finley signs a five year extension, tp goes to LA, mahinmi and hill never pan out and all of this will be taken for granted because spurs fans will be too busy blaming buford for the scola trade.
I should have said "in 2010" instead of "next year". Apparently that was too difficult for your brain.
