I believe that's Carlos English.
Tolliver did ok. Didn't play that well inside offensively among the tall Wizard lineups, but hit a couple of threes, got some offensive boards and instantly became the best big man when it comes to moving the ball. Overall, ball movement was much better than in previous games. Marcus especially started looking for the open man on drives and fast breaks.
I think there were even more scouts today than Monday. Major and Baker may have been the Wiz players they came to see. Major had 17 points in the first have I believe until Malik and Marcus backed off him and made him shoot jumpers. Baker and Ahearn had a contest to see who could play the least defense. Ahearn won by fouling out.
Get rid of Ahearn, hes a waste of time.
Ahearn with 29 points? 11-19 4-7 from 3's. Sounds nice!
I think that's the date. That's how I organize them in photobucket. I get confused sometimes.
Tolliver.
Got damn Haddadi is a big dude.
And what's with that pace? Are we going to have to start referring to Quin as "Mini-D'Antoni"?
Haddadi looked stiff and lost out there but I'm sure the Grizz wanted him to play more than Brad Stricker.
See my edit, Chump. I'm a tad concerned about the high scoring and the high rate of fouling. Is there any defense being played?
The Toros don't seem to have the personnel to control the pace like last season. Malik and Marcus are decent defenders but the whole team defense concept just isn't there. Fortunately the ball and player movement was much better this game and the Toros can play five solid scorers at once. I guess we can give Brown and Tolliver some time to see if they can help improve the defense in the next few games, but I have the feeling that many of the wins will be more due to the offense.
Thanks for the pics.
I think the lack of crowd has to impact the game in DL.
It must feel sometimes more like a training session than a real game.
Some players must have a hard time to get motivation and get into compe ion mode.
Well this particular game was one of the two "Schoolhouse Jam" games where they bus in kids from area schools at 11AM. Most of them were in the stands opposite the side I was shooting. There have been decent crowds on the regular weekend dates.
thanks for the review Chump... is there any chance you can add the boxscore link to your recaps?
Thanks
Awesome pix again. Are you on the first row?
Good idea.
Yeah. End of the baseline. We upgrade on the Schoolhouse Jam days since the kids surrounding our usual seats can be a bit shrill. It played havoc with the autofocus on the camera. I had the timing right for some nice dunk pics, but the camera hadn't caught up to the fastbreaks.
Looking at the crwod, who isn't on the front row?
where's Mahinmi?
He was called up by the Spurs.
but he wasn't on the roster last night. where is he? cyberspace? wtf?
He is only here for rehab...and because only 2 Spurs players at one time are allowed on the Toros.
In the big stands opposite the benches.
