Here is a trade proposal that is very simple and doable. The Spurs send JV and Bonner to the Thunder (they need a veteran PG to mentor Westbrook and they desperately need a PF who can make an outside shot). The Spurs get Joe Smith. (Smith is begging for his walking papers. The former #1 pick lands on the best team in his career and plays to his potential in th twilight of his career.

I believe there was a report having him soon to be waived. I'm not a fan of Smith's but if he can rebound, score and play team D then I guess I can accept that. He didn't help KG much to me so I doubt he'd help Tim.
