A reserve Texas Tech defensive back was arrested by federal agents early Thursday and charged with dealing cocaine.
Junior De'Shon Sanders, arrested in downtown Lubbock at 1:30 a.m. Thursday by agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, has been charged with felony possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of cocaine, DEA public affairs spokesman David Ausiello said Thursday.
Sanders is being held in Lubbock County jail, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
Texas Tech associate athletic director Chris Cook confirmed that Sanders is a housemate of All-American receiver Michael Crabtree and junior defensive end Brandon Sesay. Neither Crabtree nor Sesay has been implicated in the investigation of Sanders, a law enforcement official with knowledge of the case said.
However, the official said, both players were in the apartment when DEA agents searched Sanders' room in the middle of the night, following his arrest.
The 22-year-old Sanders, of Hobbs, N.M., is a transfer from City College of San Francisco. He has appeared in all 12 games for the Red Raiders and made four tackles.
tsk tsk
LOL it was well known that his roommate was the biggest drug dealer here in the city. Crabtree is clean though
CRABTREE's on drugs...every dealer i've ever known also uses...and so did all of their friends, especially the ones they lived with...just sayin'
if you read up on Crabtree, where he's come from and how he takes care of himself, you'd probably know that it's verrry unlikely that he did any coke.
Now I can't speak for his roommate Sesay, nor can I say that there's no way that Crab didn't know about his roommate dealing drugs, but I highly doubt that Crab was getting coked up.
Yet another example of the Texas Tech program seeking to meet the lofty standards set in Austin.
rofl
also rofl at all the tech fans immediately defending crabs. im not saying he does coke, but i wouldnt bet he doesnt. also isnt knowing your roommate is dealing coke and not doing anything about it illegal.
now that's funny
knowing what I do about Crab, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt about not doing coke. , the dude made his way out of Dallas Carter and keeps his body in peak physical condition.
and I think if he were going to be in trouble for not turning in his roommate, he'd be sitting in a jail cell right about now.
so did Len Bias.
right and Roy Tarpley played for the Dallas Mavericks and virtually half of all current and former Dallas Cowboys have done drugs, so yeah, I guess you have a great point.
Just goes to show you that Tech is following the steps that are required of big name programs.....they already had an academic scandal a while back, now drug charges...id say theyre right on track
So now there's no denying Tech is moving up![]()
Well if Crabtree would stop snorting so much cocaine nobody would make the comparisons.
yup b/c that has been proven![]()
not from what i heard. personally. not coke though.
Oh my God, 50 grams of coke!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
End the Drug War.
No.
Now, if he had been busted with weed or been out drinking at 4a....![]()
50 grams of coke isn't . That's like maybe $2,000 in street value. I'm sure the Detroit Lions are already sliding Crabtree much more than that under the table before they draft him next April for this to even be news.
But it's still pretty funny that this supposed big time coke dealer that everyone knew was dealing had less than two ounces. Less than two zones in a ing college town? If he was trying to keep it low profile by having less coke on hand then that makes this bust that much more hilarious. Tech can't even sell drugs right.
b/c thats something to be proud of![]()
no kidding.
I can think of several longhorns that can do drugs the right way.
Ricky and Cedric come to mind.......
what Tech athletes do know how to do is study. They lead the Big XII in graduation rate.......but I'm sure a longhorn blowhard like JT knew that already.
You don't snitch, that's common knowledge. Even if it's your biggest enemy, you don't snitch.
You're really going to fault the guy for trying to earn extra bread in this ty economy? I'd probably be selling coke too if it wouldn't cost about $800 to get a set up.
yes
why am I not surprisedI'd probably be selling coke too if it wouldn't cost about $800 to get a set up.
