Yes. Texas fans will be saying that although they made fun of USC for years about their AP championship. It is hypocritical.
i see texas ending up as the AP's #1 ranked team at the end of the season.
would you recognize Texas as a co-national champion? a lot of people were talking about USC when they were claiming to be national champions when LSU won the BCS game in what, 2004?...including me, my argument was the BCS is flawed but it's the system in place and everything else is not the national championship...
...sooooooo, as a Longhorn fan, the shoe is on the other foot. mccoy said he's coming back and texas will have another good look at it next year...we will all be saying "Texas going for back to back national les" ?
Yes. Texas fans will be saying that although they made fun of USC for years about their AP championship. It is hypocritical.
Nah, if Texas wins the AP's national championship, it will be cool and all but the BCS championship is the one everyone wants.
Wait... if Texas is #3 behind Oklahoma and Florida, and Oklahoma and Florida are playing one another, how exactly is Texas going to leapfrog the winner to finish #1? By beating a two-loss Ohio State team that got blown out by USC? Or are the voters going to pick them just out of spite?
i'm going with spite...they've already picked mccoy as big 12 offensive player of the year when the consensus is sam bradford...they like to go against the grain
FIFY
Exactly.
Honestly I'd rather see Texas in Pasadena next year than getting any share of this year's le. You know McCoy will probably bulk up another 15-20 lbs and by then he'll be at that NFL-ready size everyone says he's not quite at yet. Kid is going to set unbreakable school records next year, and if he wins the Heisman this year he'll have nothing left to do but win the BCS championship. Oklahoma probably won't be as good next year when they lose all of those 340+ pound senior linesmen and Bradford actually gets pressured, but hey I'm sure the University of Oklahoma has purchased its own Taco Bell franchise and has its redshirt linesmen eating six square meals a day there to get them up to size. If anything they're at least getting to the Fourthmeal.
I think Bradford is going to come out. What else does he have left to prove? He is the #1 QB coming out in this draft, and he will be making a huge mistake if he doesn't come out. Look at Matt Leinart, he was going to be the #1 pick in the 2005 draft till he ed it up by coming back. James Lauranitas was going to be the #1 LB taken in the 2008 draft, but ed it up by coming back and is now a late first round pick or second round pick.

not sure what poll your looking at but in the last ap poll texas is behind ou and uf so they would have to jump the winner of that game to be the co-champ and it wont happen.
florida beats oklahoma and texas jumps florida...IN THE AP (for spite...remember)
OU beats Fla and UT manhandles OSU. Fla, with two losses would drop behind UT; UT with a dominating win over OSU and with one loss and with head to head win over OU, could make a claim to #1. Not likely, but there could be some sentiment for it in the polls.
sentiment in ap = spite for bcs = texas > florida
yeah, OU would have to barely beat Fla and both teams would have to look bad while UT would need to hang half a hundred on OSU.
I'm ok with that.![]()
This is a fairy tale thread.Let's assume OU beats UF and UT beats OSU. With OU #1 and UT #2, UT fans will have reason to and moan about the shootout, I guess . . . 45-35 . . . whatever. But that's it. There's no way UT gets the AP.And I hate hearing about the stupid 2003 USC Trojans. They didn't win a share of the national championship. They won a protest vote, that's all. Heck, I feel A LOT sorrier for Auburn in 2004 than I do for USC in 2003. At least Auburn went undefeated in the best conference in college football.
It was feasable before uo jumped UT in the polls. If UT would have remained ahead of uo in one or both of the polls then I would say you have a case. Since the pollesters have already conceded the fact that uo should be ranked above UT PRIOR to the games, there isn't an issue.
I don't even credit USC has the champs or co champs in 2003, so this AP means absolutely nothing, btw.
hmm......an Okie St fan that goes out of his way to say 'uo' and 'ttek', yet capitalize 'UT'
interesting. I wonder why.
..and the irony is that rabid Aggie fan likes to say 'tu' instead of 'ut', while you say 'uo' instead of 'ou'
wacky.
I'm a HUGE Longhorn fan but it's over now, let it go.
that's the conclusion i'm coming to...and now i have to watch the cowboys implode, college bball and spurs bbal doesn't start to get good for months...i'm sad, this time of the year sucks![]()
History says it's a huge mistake for him to come out as a redshirt sop re. He's only got the storied legacies of Tommy Maddox and Michael Vick to follow if he chooses that path.
QB's need at least three years of college playing time. Even Sam "Jesus" Bradford.
