Just go buy them in another county.

that sucks, I always go all out on new years buying fireworks
Just go buy them in another county.
The regional counties co-operated on this one. There have been a ridiculous amount of grassfires this year.
Kendall currently is the only one joining. The others are taking into consideration.
Also read this, so it lookes like it's only the first 60hrs....doesn't make sense.
The ban will cover a 60-hour period beginning on Dec. 20, the first day fireworks can be sold, and Wolff will ask Gov. Rick Perry to extend the declaration throughout the sales period, which lasts until Jan. 1.
IIRC, it's because the 60-hour period is the longest the county can actually enforce without state intervention, and they do it at the beginning to prevent the inevitable run on the shops.
Looks like my decision not to throw out the leftovers from July 4th was a good one.
I wonder if anybody at work would notice if I hijacked a tractor and 57-foot trailer for a little black market fireworks run to New Mexico...

Nah. Go for it!
(and post the video of the police chase on youtube)

Our trucks are governed at 67...might make OJ's white Bronco chase look like the Cannonball Run!
Hey Alamo I do believe that the law is 53 foot trailer. Try explaining that one at the Anthony scale on 10 LOL.
Good fireworks are legal in Texas? Nice. A lot of people sell them from their house out here, and the cops really don't stop anyone.
I used to think like you till a grass fire threatened my home and my neighbors homes last 4th of July. I was even partaking in the fireworks until I saw a wall of flames heading my direction. An undermanned volunteer fire truck shows up with one driver and one nozzleman to fight this fire. If it weren't for myself and some of the neighbors jumping on the hose I might not have my home today.Absolute bull .
It is dry as in Texas.
The entire state could burn down.
So they are not going to have that this year???
That completely sucks.
City fireworks should be ok, that is controlled and downtown.
no way...i need some fireworks...i have some left over from last year, but does anyone know where i can get some illegal fireworks. my typical new years eve fireworks budget is $500.
i need one of those big ers that usually costs about $150 that shoots like these cannons into the air! anyone know where i can get some?
57's are perfectly legal in New Mexico. We run them all the time. We even sneak 59's in occasionally, because all the DOT cops in NM are interested in is collecting their fuel tax money.
