Remains Of Young Child Found Near Anthony Home
Thursday, December 11, 2008 – updated: 11:18 am EST December 11, 2008
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The remains of a young child were located in east Orange County Thursday morning, less than a half-mile from Casey Anthony's parents' home, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office. An Orange County water meter reader discovered a bag in the area of Chickasaw Trail and Suburban Drive (see map), around three-tenths of a mile from the Anthonys' home (map from location to Anthonys' home).According to information obtained by Eyewitness News, when the meter reader picked up the bag a skull fell out. The Orange County Sheriff's Office has confirmed to Eyewitness News that the body is a young child."We are assuming they are the remains of a victim," said Orange County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Solomons. It is not clear at this point whether the body could be Caylee Anthony."We know we have a recent discovery. We have investigators on the scene. We need to determine what we have," said Solomons.Reports from the scene say deputies have set up a perimeter near a small retention pond. Eyewitness News report Kathi Belich said sources told her they were taking this very seriously and would expedite DNA test to determine if the remains were indeed Caylee's.Tim Miller, founder of the Texas-based search group Equusearch, said he had been called by law enforcement officials and told they believed they had found Caylee Anthony."The words were, 'Tim, it looks like we got her,'" said Miller. "I'm surprised. It was one of them cases I thought would have never been found… I thought the best thing that would ever happen is that one day we could go to a funeral and say good-bye to this little girl… and it looks like that will happen.""I'm just overcome with emotion and grief right now," said bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, who has been a major part of search efforts to find Caylee's body.
Wow
i was just about to post that
i live in daytona and we air the orlando news. they talk about it like every night and its so obvious she, the mother did it. i pray that it is caylees body so that the family can start putting this behind them. though actually i wish she isnt dead, its pretty obvious it is.
the live news their showing right now said they didnt even search this area. it was deemed too close to the house and not an area of interest? wtf?
teh grandparents are on their way back from LA right now, im not sure if theyve even heard this yet.
wow. all that investigating and national headline bull , and the body was only a half-mile from the house...
those cops must suck a lick
Damn. Finally. How long were they going to let that psycho play her stupid game anyway?? Amazing!!
It's so freakin sad. I can't imagine anyone doing something like that to a child let alone their own.
she's still locked up right? i stopped keeping up with this when the cops were brought in to protect the family that wasn't helping...
yeah shes in jail, and the news reports taht the jail spokesman wont confrim or deny that she has seen these news reports.
I think she must have killed her by accident. It doesn't make any sense to me otherwise. Those grandparents are tools though.
Honestly, wouldn't that be down on the list of places to look for? Half a mile in the ground near the house?
yeah theres confusion on whether or not anyone looked in taht area
equusearch also helped with the search and if the area was searched it might have been their fault not the cops.
the grandparents seem more concerend with getting on tv than finding the body.
orlando news is sayingthe state might seek the death penalty now if the body is confirmed to be caylees
The grands were on Larry King last night asserting their daughter's innocence, cracking on the media for convicting their daughter, etc.
Wonder how they feel now?
Thats what some news people were saying
No , how long has it been.........MONTHS?? Sounds like a setup.
I mean ok the mom is a stupid but how do we really know she did it. Its innocent until proven guilty.
In looking at the map, how is it that a bag filled with the remains of a dead child is laying by a water meter in front of a house on a residential street? When I first read the piece, I envisioned some isolated rural location. The whole thing is weird.
first thing i thought was the meter man was the real kilelr and dumped the body by teh anthony home to frame her. than as soon as that thought entered my head it left.
the thing that does it for me, is her not reporting anything for a month. i mean did she really just think her daughter would disappear and no one would ever mention it?
and the decayed remains or whatever in the trunk of her car. although i hear the anthonys are saying it was pizza. not real sure what happened with that htuogh. either way, ive never stuck a pizza in the trunk of my car.
from the video ive seen its in teh woods...kinda hard to tell bc theres so many cars and people there you dont realy know who to look at
Yeah thats what I was saying, how was this put there after all these months. The grandparents were out of town, the mom is in jail. Who put the bag there? How long could it have been sitting there untouched for longer than a week?
Yeah I dont understand that but maybe someone kidnapped her and said if you tell anyone ill kill her. Thats a possibility thats why she is rotting in jail keeping her mouth shut. People leave all kinds of things in trunks, if it was her body decaying they would have found something by now.
And don't they read those water meters on monthly basis?
Its funny cause my annoying ass coworker mouths off about this case any chance she gets. To annoy her I tell her that Casey is hot and that she is totally innocent and I want to bail her out of jail haha. That shuts her up everytime.
ALSO.......why the is the meter man digging through someones trash? Or even taking it to the dumpster. They wouldnt touch anything other than the meter on anyones property.
sounds like she was dumped there. I wonder if the grandparents had anything to do with this?
they were and still are "out of town"
