Chump, was this a game you thought would be tough for them or am I thinking of a different one?
Your pics are really incredible. Thanks for posting them for us.
Box score.
Toros Knock Off Previously-Unbeaten 14ers
Austin 133, Colorado 108
AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 12 – Anthony Tolliver led the Toros to a 133-108 victory over the 14ers on Friday night at the Austin Convention Center, ending Colorado's three-game winning streak.
Tolliver, who is on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, finished the night with 30 points and six rebounds.
"We played really well offensively, but we still need to improve on the defensive end," Tolliver said. "We are going to keep working on our defense, but it was great to get a win tonight."
The Toros had three other players score more than 20 points – Malik Hairston, 25 points; Blake Ahearn, 23; and Marcus Williams, 22. Williams also collected a season-high 16 rebounds, while Andre Brown added a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
James Mays led the way for Colorado with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Joe Dabbert added another 16 points and 13 rebounds for the 14ers.
The Toros led, 60-56, at halftime, after dominating from the free throw line and taking advantage of a 14-4 assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Toros caught fire from behind the arc, pushing their lead to as many as 27 points in the final minute of play to close the door on the 14ers.
The Toros next game is on Saturday against the Albuquerque Thunderbirds at the Austin Convention Center, while the 14ers resume their schedule on Sunday with a home matchup against the Reno Bighorns.

Stomped 'em but coasted way too long. I'll post some notes later.

Thanks.
Yeah, I thought it would be really tough since they added so many good players this week, but Josh Davis didn't play and their NBA players didn't play much. I was surprised Samb in particular played very little. Once they get some playing time together like the Toros have, they could be a very tough team.
Great pics Chump!
The way Marcus is holding that gooseneck in his follow-through, makes me wonder how much help Chip was to him. Have you noticed significant improvement on his shot, or is it still pretty erratic?
Also, what are your impressions of Andre Brown in the Spurs/Toros system? Do you think the Spurs should give him a look?
Ahearn looks to have had an off-game. He only went 7-8 from the free throw line.
to bad alot of people doesn't go watch these games..... heck, even middle school basketball games has bigger crowds then that.
Comon now,

ALl the pics have something great about them, but my favorite is Marcus Williams' shot, followed by Brown's dunk. I can appreciate photos with good timing.
If you happened to get the ball in the shot of Marcus' stroke, it would have been worthy of an award, IMO. But it is awesome as is.
No Mahinmi? What the is going on with him?
Hes not even assigned to Austin right now. Hes with the Spurs recovering from his ankle injuries.
I thought they wore Toros jerseys, not Spurs? Confused.
There are more people on the benches than in the crowd !
Thanks for the pics.
He has a pretty consistent stroke. I'm just not crazy about it. It has a catapult quality to it that takes a long time to get off. A taller player could get away with it in the NBA, but not Marcus.
He's getting better with each game. His rebounding and team D are pretty good. He's strong but not a super athlete and his offense isn't anything to write home about. Also, what are your impressions of Andre Brown in the Spurs/Toros system? Do you think the Spurs should give him a look?
It was affiliate night, so they were wearing Spurs uniforms. The Coyote and some Silver Dancers were there.
Most of the crowd is in the big grandstand opposite the benches. Attendance seems a little lighter than last season. The economy may have something to do with that.
Don't they play with the college 3-pt line, or am I wrong?
It's a regular NBA 3pt line. Tolliver has been 13 of 18 from there the last two games.
yeah, I noticed the Box. Tolliver can shoot the 3 in SL and D-league, just not the NBA, at least yet. Williams was 1-8 on 3s. Is this the same Williams we drafted a while back, and he sucked?
good pics!
why are we forgetting marcus williams????![]()
doesnt anybody realise that Williams was shooting at 59% from 3-point range before this game!!
im feeling a call-up soon...
Until he plays better defense or starts playing like a forward instead of a tall guard, the Spurs aren't going to do anything with him.
Son of a . The toros players that the Spurs drafted are kicking butt. Goodbye Udoka.
Exactly. He would basically be the same player as Finley if we brought him up...a SG stuck in a SF body. The SF we need for this team has to be able to play like one and not like the plethora of swingmen we already have.
This could become more and more of a reality as we move towards the deadline. The FO could jump on a deal that involves Udoka for a decent draft pick then begin auditioning some of the Toros players (Hairston/Brown) for the SF spot.
Why include him? Hes already had 2 chances with this team. Hes still slow as crap.
