oh the reason bonner had so many shots was because NO let him have them. NO defense comes to help prevent parker or manu from driving. when parker kicks it out to the 3 pt shooters, NO let bonner open to shut down the other 3 pt shooters. same goes when NO doubles duncan. the defense rotates enough and tries to push the ball to bonner or bowen and force bonner to beat them at the three point line. this was bonner's time to shine but he missed that opportunity.

Bonner did miss a golden opportunity here. His shots could have been the difference. He still impacted the game in other positive ways.

I'm very MAD AT TP. he looks lazy as on defense the last few weeks. Unless he is still injured that is unacceptable. Not good enough TP, NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
this is true. tp get your together. it looks like the celebrity life is wearing on his body.

I was watching the game and one of the announcers said that Bonner is instructed to shoot when he has a shot and he'll stay in the game. If he passes up looks, he sits. Those are the directions Popovich gave him. Can anyone verify this from the Spurs side?
"Shoot or sit" that's what Pop told him. and if you're a 50% 3 pt shooter you better damn shoot if you have the shot. tonight just wasn't bonner night. it's the es i tell yah.

i thought parker did a decent job taking in account that he is guarding one of the most unstoppable point guards in the league. doubling paul was not necessary.

New Orleans didn't "let" Bonner shoot..if you let a 53% 3-point shooter get open shot after open shot, then your defense sucks..Bonner was due for a bad game, and unfortunately for us, it was tonight..

he didn't force anything, so don't blame him..

his defense was solid, he battled for rebounds, he hustled..

this is his first bad game in a while..

most of bonner's shots were wide open jumpers. of course NO let him shoot, they were too busy shutting down the inside lanes and doubling duncan.

Bonner was long past due for a bad shooting night. Besides, I kinda like this character test. Bonner chokes off a "big" game on the road because he can't hit shots when basically unguarded. How will he bounce back? Will he go into the fetal position or will he shrug it off and continue bombing tomorrow night?

Better to find out what Bonner is made out of now than some point in the playoffs.

As far as a character test for Bonner, I couldn't have drawn up a better scenario

I understand Bonner is instructed to shoot but it would be nice to see him pass up a jumper to work for a better shot when the game is on the line. He is almost like a robot shooting whenever he has any daylight at all...it's nice when they go in but, when he is cold, how about working it back to one of the drivers or Timmy? I did like how he hustled on defense and worked for boards but just a little patience on offense would be cool...

that's not "letting" him shoot though..they're supposed to rotate.."letting" someone shoot is like leaving Ime Udoka open, or somebody that can't shoot..

Did you watch the Boston Celtics game? Did you see their 10th man taking shots in crunch time? Uh no. Dude doesn't have the balls to play in a game against a real team. HE MISSED OPEN SHOT AFTER OPEN SHOT AFTER OPEN SHOT. He even looked ty on a dunk and missed another one.

He was getting pushed around all over the place.

Bonner should NOT be playing against elite teams in the fourth quarter. Pop made some crucial coaching mistakes down the stretch of this game. And I agree, Parker and Manu sucked ball also, but .. they were going to Bonner who had the green light....

Boston went to Garnett and Paul Pierce.

    Spurs went to Bonner.

    Loss.

Ok, so he had one bad shooting game. He'll be back. Trust your coach and his decisions and the season will be more fun to watch.

another way of saying that is bonner wasn't a priority defensively for NO. defense can only rotate so much. after coming off a double, you can't expect the defense to chase down every shooter every time. the spurs system was built so someone on the three pt line would have a high chance of being open if the opposing team doubled duncan or sent help to stop a drive. bonner was the guy open most of the time. he missed a very big opportunity to prove himself. i hope he bounces back but his good play so far has been during the first three quarters. i think this is the first time popovich left bonner in during huge stretches in the fourth.

So if Bonner comes out tommarow, doesn't shoot well, but is still agressive in shooting the ball, does he pass?

they were daring him to shoot. he was wide open all night.

spurs just live and die by the three. it's pretty sad considering that there are actually something athletic guys on the team, manu, tony, hill.
