spurs are gonna get rolled tomorrow night.

Werd
I'd bet money that Gregg Popovich would let Robert Freaking Horry go to sign guys like Michael Finley and Kurt Thomas...
Just call it a hunch.
Remember when Pop went after Webber?
I bet he still loses sleep over that one.
Finley has more clutch performances in the playoffs than Barry and hes a choker.
Typical Whottt Barry homerism.
Bonner was fine tonight, his defense on West was good, his doubles on Paul were really good, and he showed no fear in shooting. His shots weren't that far off and it was just a bad night.
Typical CBF attention thread though.
So Pop was forced to sign Horry?
Whottt has fallen over the edge.
Horry was Pop's freaking favorite player, quit talking out of your ass.
From the political forum idiot...why don't you go back there...it's bad enough you turn the politial forum into a toilet...must you do it to the Spurs forum too...
Take 45 Mag, stick it in your mouth, pull trigger.
Rinse, repeat.
Pop loves chokers yet he had Brent "Bird" Barry the clutchest player ever. And he rode the Horry train until Horry could literally not go anymore. Pop doesn't believe in clutch players, that's why he kept playing Horry even though Horry was shooting about 8% in the playoffs.
whottt making all sorts of sense. None of his rantings can be traced back that the Spurs let Bird walk.
Knowing how the Spurs always stood to other oponents level. You're probably right.
Yeah, David West is a consistently good three point shooter, I could see why you'd point that out![]()
Nice spin...
#1. Horry was signed for his defense and to keep him away from the Lakers.
#2. The very next year Pop went after Karl Malone. Then he went after Karl Malone again. Horry's career only lasted this long because Pop was unable to find an effective choker to his liking until landing Kurt Thomas.
You can see if two players are of similar skill...Pop will take the choker every time.
Finley, and Devin and Beno, over Barry(even with Barry here).
Hedo over Jack
KT over Horry...
On and on and on...like I said, the only reason Duncan hasn't had rosters that choked as bad as Drob's is because Pop's best attempts have been thwarted.
Dude wanted Chris Webber over Drob...probably would have played him over Duncan if he'd gotten him too.
@ the spin from Whottt
west is just a good shooter in general. leaving him open for a shot is just a bad idea. he didn't need to shoot two threes to build momentum for NO. two open jump shots would have done.
That's why the Lakers renounced his rights.
Good lie.
Um, Malone would have been the Rasho replacement.
To give Horry minutes, Pop kicked Malik Rose to the curb. Two time champion Rose. He also had to salary dump his contract, which cost multiple first round picks. All to open up time for Horry.
How many years are we going to have to hear about Barry? Have you watched him this year? I wanted Barry over Finley but Barry looks broken and done. Tearing the same calf muscle again? Sounds like the Spurs did right in letting Bird walk.
What a surprise...timvp and TParker defending chokers...they've only defended like, every single one to ever play for the Spurs(until they actually choked) and then they distanced themselves from the choking...
All you need to know is that timvp's favorite player is AJ...
I rest my freaking case.
You guys probably watch replays of Danny Ferry, Hedo, Steve Smith and Terry Porter against the Lakers for entertainment...
You know why Phil Jackson always beats Pop's ass? He'll take the clutch guy over the hustle guy every time...it's easier to get a clutch guy to hustle than it is to turn a hustle guy clutch...
Pop's an asshat about this every time.
Teams with multiple chokers in key roles never win NBA les...no way this team can overcome Bonner, Finley and Thomas pulling big minutes down the stretch...
Lakers will assrape us by 50ppg.
I like to watch Danny Ferry's clutch games vs Phoenix in 2003 where he filled in for your buddy Robinson cause he was hurt again.
whottt, did you ask ploto's permission to steal her posting style? All you need to do now is post some articles while bolding the sections about Barry and you'd have to start paying her royalties.
BTW
Didn't you say in 2007 the Spurs couldn't overcome the choking of Finley, when it was Finley who was the MVP of the first round series vs Denver, and had stud games vs the Suns in the second round?
You've yet to apologize for that minor fopah sunshine.
That's because Malik himself was actually turning clutch(see the dunk against the Nets in the 03 finals and his performance against LA in 02)...and Pop couldn't stand seeing it happen to him. It made Pop sick to his stomach.
Barry...although he's one of the few that actually plays better against LA...that's beside the point....How many years are we going to have to hear about Barry? Have you watched him this year? I wanted Barry over Finley but Barry looks broken and done. Tearing the same calf muscle again? Sounds like the Spurs did right in letting Bird walk.
He resigned Finley...that's like paying to give the other teams an extra player against us...and there is no rationale for Kurt Thomas over Horry...he's much more fragile than Horry and it's not like he does anything else like rebound or block shots...ever.
The rationale of Thomas over Horry is that Horry retired genius.
Dude...I'm philosophical about this season, I don't expect a le.
That said...if you guys are going to defend choking, it's going to lead to an argument.
This whole thread reeks of Monday morning quarterback vagina.
If your going to continue to go to the failed arguement that Finley is a choke artist, then I guess you will.
So Pop kept Horry because he was the less clutch option? Make sense much?
That's almost bad as you listing clutch players and putting Barry before Horry
Beside the point? You've been whining on not having Barry all thread and all year. Even though Barry is broken and hasn't hit a clutch shot all year and hit about seven clutch shots in his four years in San Antonio.
Pop rode Horry as long as it was humanly possible to ride him. 8% in the playoffs and 38 years of age says it's time to move on, ploto.
Uh, thats the whole forum after a loss, not just THIS thread![]()
