LBJ can make a team better.
Kobe? Not necessarily
Obviously no one else is really up for disussion well maybe Wade.....
who is the best?
LBJ can make a team better.
Kobe? Not necessarily
This question was already answered during the Olympics.
LeBron, Kobe, Wade.....they all might look like equals 99% of the time. But then that moment comes where Spain gets within a point and the team starts wondering if they're going to be the biggest basketball failures of all time. And when that moment comes, Kobe rises up and carries the team to a gold medal while LeBron and Wade enjoy the ride.
Kobe is still the best in the game.
I like Kobe more. This is the first year I'd say LeBron is better, mainly because his defense has improved.
LeBron is definitely the better player this year. It looks like Kobe might finally be the second best player. If LeBron keeps this play up the entire year, no doubt in my mind he is the best.
Kobe is still #1...just his whole approach to the game now, his stats might not be like they used to but i would have to say he's playing a whole lot better. He is getting everyone involved and when they call upon him, he shows up. Even though they lost to the pacers by a point i remember this point in the game where when the Lakers started to struggle in the 3rd Kobe just stepped on the gas and scored something like 17 points in a row, just every type of skillset possible, from the inside/outside, self alleyoop.
One thing holding me back on Lebron is just his whack jumper. If he improves it i will go out on a limb and say he would shoot over 50%
I can't believe it was monosylab1k that posted this but he's right and I gotta give him props for that.
Kobe hadn't done jack through the Olympics but with the game on the line, who do you go to? And he delivered too.
LeBron is better than Kobe at some things but as Charles says, Kobe is still Kyra Sedgwick

I'll take Duncan over both of them..
I love Kobe's game. I just hate when people try to put him anywhere near the same level as Jordan, because he's not.
LeBron is playing at an entirely different level this year.
Yeah your right, because both those guys have just led their teams to so much glory..![]()
The ass kicking he got by Pierce in the finals put a final nail in the MJ comparisons coffin..
Trick question, neither of them are.
The answer is a 14-way tie between Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Josh Howard, JJ Barea, Erick Dampier, DeSagana Diop, Brandon Bass, Gerald Green, Antoine Wright, Shawne Williams, Devean George, James Singleton, and Jerry Stackhouse.
We love our team!
LeBron is MUCH better than Kobe. It's not even close.
If heroic Olympic performances and taking over games in the fourth quarter are a measure of greatness, then Manu >>>>>>> Kobe.
These are serious questions for not just you but everybody because I think it would be interesting to see how people would answer it.
If Duncan were on the same team as Kobe or as LeBron James, would it be Duncan's team or Kobe's/LeBron's team? Would the offense run through Duncan or Kobe/LeBron. In the fourth quarter, who would be the main go-to guy, Duncan or Kobe/LeBron?
Just food for thought. No right or wrong answer. Just wondering what people think.
Not necessarily true because while Kobe had more talent on his Olympic team, Manu didn't beat the best the United States had to offer. If Kobe were on that 2004 Olympic team with Iverson and Duncan, does Argentina still win the gold?
Oh, to answer the original question, LeBron is the better player now. He dominates the game more than Kobe and his dominance is leading to wins. It's not just great statistical performance on a bad or even mediocre team. LeBron is playing amazing and his team is winning. You have to say LeBron is the better player right now.
What about Sleepy Floyd in his prime versus LeBron today? How does the Sleepy Floyd of 86-87 compare to LeBron?
Michael Jordan would kick their asses even today.
Duncan is the best player and Lebron is a close second. Lebron has youth, but Duncan is more valuable, as a low post threat (rare in the NBA) and much better on D. Duncan is also the best pick setter in basketball, just ask Parker.
Kobe has never been as good as Duncan, nor will he ever be.
