Stephon Marbury's quote from the Knicks-Lakers game, in which he bought a courtside seat to attend.

He probably has nothing set in stone with any team, but it made me think a little. On what team would it be a shock to see Marbury end up? The only team in the league that would absolutely shock me is San Antonio.

Does anyone feel, as I do, that Marbury had all the love of this game eviscerated out of him (if it was ever there)? And because of that he won't make a serious impact elsewhere?

Does he feel like Steve Francis?

This is one roster move I'm considering. Gerald Wallace, Chris Kaman, guys like that aren't high impact enough. Plus we'd have to trade Josh to get them But Marbury could really help!

Marbury is the bullet point I've been waiting on, and he's the guy that will put us over the top!

Celtics would not shock anyone. maybe the Pistons and to a bigger extent, the Mavericks... But none come close to the shock value of a Stephon Marbury-type player going to the San Antonio Spurs.

That kind of shock would be akin to having Lebron come to the Spurs in 2010, its just unthinkable.

I, for one, hope its not the Spurs.

Just for the record, Im not comparing Stephon's play to be on Par with Lebron's.... Im comparing Stephon's notoriety for being a cancer to Lebrons hunger for a huge paycheck and being in the limelight.

OK, the way I see it there are a couple of possibilities:
    1. Teams which have a major hole at point guard
Washington, Miami, Minnesota, Portland, Oklahoma City, L.A. Lakers, Golden State, Sacramento, Houston, Memphis
    2. Teams which could use a qualified backup at point guard:
New Jersey, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, Indiana, L.A. Clippers, Phoenix, Denver
    3. Teams which have a solid/filled point guard rotation:
New York, Charlotte, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland, San Antonio, New Orleans, Dallas, Utah

I think any of the teams in group 3 would be surprising. For teams in group 2, Boston (Eddie House), Orlando (Anthony Johnson), and Denver (Anthony Carter) have underwhelming backups who are nonetheless doing pretty well, and their teams are good enough that I'd say introducing a personality like Marbury's into the mix would be shocking.

So that leaves the Nets, the Raptors, the Sixers, the Pacers, the Clippers, and the Suns, all of which are borderline playoff teams, plus (from group 1) borderline playoff team Miami and contenders Portland, the Lakers, and Houston, along with (non-shocking) bottom-feeders Washington, OKC, Golden State, Sacramento, and Memphis.

Their current total obligations are as follows:
    Blazers $82.4
    Lakers 78.8
    Rockets 77.3
    Suns 75.2
    Raptors 73.4
    Pacers 70.0
    Heat 69.7
    Sixers 67.2
    Nets 62.6
    Clippers 58.8

Marbury has played for the Suns and the Nets before.

Why would Miami want him? Chalmers is doing ok there. Bringing in Marbury will stunt his development and do you really want to expose him to Marbury.

Knowing what I know of Steph, he'll probably take a buyout and then sign a minimum deal to play for the Knicks.

That would be the most shocking thing he could do.

Stop crying, you sniveling ass! Stop your nonsense. You're just the afterbirth, Eli. You slithered out of your mother's filth. They should have put you in a glass jar on a mantlepiece. Where were you when Paul was suckling at your mother's teat? Where were you? Who was nursing you, poor Eli - one of Bandy's sows? That land has been had. Nothing you can do about it. It's gone. It's had. You lose.

OK is OK. If they don't think he'll ever be more than OK, why not bring in a veteran to try to make a push for the playoffs?
