So an 11-5 Patriots team is gonna miss the playoffs after Miami & Baltimore both win next week.
Meanwhile, either one of those sacks of dog from the West will make it in at 8-8 or 9-7.
Un ingbelievable.
Oh well, an 11-5 season this year with Cassel and the league lead in number of players on the DL basically all but amounts to 19-0 next year after Brady gets back and all our badass defensive rookies have a year of experience under their belts.
We'll be well rested, have a decent first round pick, and a slew of 2nd rounders after compensation for Asante comes our way, and possibly after a Cassel trade.

I'm convinced Mangini will tank the game next week just to over Belichick.
At least the players are taking it well.
Unfortunately it took way too long for the team to get consistent. And lucky for the rest of the AFC, the best team in the conference probably won't get into the playoffs. No complaints were uttered in New England's locker room about the playoff scenarios. Rather than rail for a revamped system, the Patriots pointed a collective finger at themselves for not winning one more game earlier in the season.
"That's why you play 16 games in the regular season, so situations like this won't happen," Hobbs said. "Unfortunately, we weren't taking care of business in the beginning -- or taking care of business enough."
They're all part of the Parcells coaching tree, so I'd think Mangini would like more to beat his former boss' team than to over the Pats. Either way the Jets need the Jags to somehow beat the Ravens to even get in...and I just don't see that happening with the Jags down to third string tailbacks.
Pats will probably win the division and if they do, mark my words we're heading for another AFC Championship game between Indy and NE in Foxborough.
The only playoff team the Pats could probably beat is the AFC West winner or the last wildcard.
I'd be happy as if that happened. A Cassel-led Patriots team getting to the AFC le game (and more than likely losing, let's be honest) is definitely more impressive than going undefeated in the regular season only to crap the bed against Eli.
And even though there's still hate for the Colts, at least it's losing to a team that you can respect. Unlike the utter douchiness of everything associated with the Steelers and Chargers organizations.
This season is by far Belichick's best coaching job ever.
I could see them beating anybody but the Colts. ans and Steelers are good but the offenses are both inconsistent enough to be exposed. Ravens have Flacco (lol) and those AFC West teams both lick balls.
I'd kind of like to see the Pats curbstomp the Chargers in the playoffs for the third straight year, but that'd mean they have to beat Denver and Indy and I just don't see that happening. Tomlinson hasn't been dominant enough this year to scare me, and Rivers is just going to throw all day against a Colts defense that's only allowed six passing TDs all season. Yeah, two of those were to Rivers, but 14 points through the air isn't beating Indy this year. It's not the matchup I want, but I really want to see the Colts beat them on their field as payback for last year. In the long run a tough game in the first round might be better for the Colts because going to Denver has 49-21 Colts written all over it with the headline "Manning throws 7 TDs, It's 12:50AM and Denver still sucks"
While it's bull the Pats will prob miss the playoffs at 11-5, the fact that they kept us fans interested all season was more than i could ask for.Im damn proud of this team for the job they did. This year is going to be one that this Pats team as a whole can build off of for next season. Im just praying Brady can be like the Brady we know. The D will be experienced, like you said, and Brady being back adds a different swagger to this team. The Pats also are so ing great when it comes to the draft. Lots of be excited about.
BTW going for an undefeated season (I know you are kidding around on that but im going to be pissed if we go 16-0 again).![]()

Hopefully your vagina will heal up by then.
30-10
You think so? I would still think it was their first SB season. They weren't really expected to be Superbowl material quite yet, and it only got worse when Bledsoe went down. At least this year, they still had a loaded offense despite Brady going down. If they win the SB somehow, then this would definitely be his best. But I find it hard to say its better than their 2001 season... at least not yet anyways.
This season they lost Brady and replaced him with a guy who hadn't played a down of meaningful football since high school. They also lead the league in number of players on the DL (losing their best defensive player in Adalius Thomas). They lose Asante Samuel to free agency and replaced him with Deltha O'Neal, which is kind of like replacing Terrence Newman with an unathletic fat assed internet tough guy like Fabbs.
Sure they still have Moss, but his Raider years proved that if the QB is playing like crap, he's going to mail it in and quit playing hard. But even during the first couple months of really inconsistent play from Cassel, Moss never complained (or at least not very loudly). That, IMO, is a mix of a) Moss actually maturing a little bit and proving he's not part of the TO Owens/Chad Johnson crowd, and b) Belichick handled Moss perfectly this season, making sure he still played hard every week.
In their first Super Bowl year, the team had a lot of talent that just was in disarray from Pete Carroll's inep ude. Remember, most of the main pieces from the 96 SB Pats team were still there in 2001. Belichick just had to get that team organized and playing to their potential. IMO, this season he's had to squeeze out a whole lot more with a whole lot less.
Your vagina hasn't healed up in almost 2 years now.
21-12
24-21 (lol, troy brown owning marlon mccree)
Meriweather is really starting to grow on me. I want the Pats to draft mostly defense this year. Add to that depth. The O is fine. We are fine with using 50689485948 especially with Brady at the helm. I just want that dominating powerhouse hit you in the mouth lockdown suffocating D back in Foxboro next year.
alright alright yall need to shut the up already about the patriots. this thread is supposed to be devoted to saying "lol, cutler" and similar things to johnsmith.
lol, cutler
lol, broncos
lol, bills
lol, late INT
It would've been ideal if Stokley could've held on to that perfectly thrown pass.
The Broncos need to tank this one just to avoid being curbstomped by the Colts ... at least the Chargers will have a shot to upset Indy
Afraid of the Colts, are we?
I hate you.
Not afraid, just wary/respectful. If it came down to it, I'd want the Steelers to face the ans rather than the Colts. We made too many mistakes in Tennessee on Sunday and were still up 14-10 midway through the third, but never got into any kind of rhythm.
As it stands, ans and Colts are on a collision course (1 seed and 5 seed, assuming the Colts get past the #4 seed from the West). Steelers will probably see the Ravens (Baltimore with the #6 seed should make short work of the #3 Dolphins/Pats)
It's gonna be a fun playoffs.
