People say that?
I know people say duncan is soft around the rim, but omg yao is softer he got dunked on AGAIN , last night by Al Jefferson, if you havent seen it look it up on youtube lol.
People say that?
on ESPN
whatever...Yao cannot be stopped offensively.
Yao 9-17 shooting. 18 pts 4 boards, 3 asts in 35 min
Jefferson 15 - 31 shooting 34 pts 13 boards, 4 asts in 44 min
Run Yao's numbers out to 44 min and you get
22 pts 5 boards and 4 asts and that's still not looking at it right. You give Yao 31 touches and he would outscore Jefferson 34 to 31. When Yao is in the game, Jefferson cannot stop him. Nuff said.
Yao's a beast. His mobility isn't amazing, and centers get dunked on all the time. They block shots, and shot blockers get banged on.
Not to mention that Jefferson got most of his pts when Yao was on the bench.
Now thats not entirely true. He was leaving Yao standing still with his footwork. He is to small for Yao to be effective against. Nobody could stop Yao either though. He is a game changer.
says more about al jefferson's offense than yao's defense.
hey i thought someone made a top 10 video solely on Kobe dunking on duncan
the fact is getting dunk on is a good sign that the player is actually trying to defend. i dont think u can find a lot of videos of eddy curry getting dunk on, can you?
oh wellz, Yao got his revenge by hitting the clutch shot over Al to seal the game, but man was Al a beast.
Exactly! Any big man (any player in general) playing D, aka CONTESTING shots, is going to get dunked on. Getting dunked on does NOT equal being soft (I am not saying he isn't soft just making a point). And we should know by now that everyone likes to make a big deal about dunking on the 7'6" guy. Those are the only highlights Yao seems to get, even though he has been playing great. And lets not forget that even though he is a bit taller than everyone, he lacks athleticism. Its actually not that hard for these guys to get above him.
when yao came into the league he was soft; he didnt want to dunk the ball
i guess people just expected him to be like shaq- a dunking monster beast
i think tmac is the soft one, wait he's just a puss boy. yao is just too slow because of his size.
Jefferson > Yao. Maybe Yao would get more minutes if he didn't get a season ending hang nail so often. Yao is an overrated softy. If he was an American player who wasn't glorified by the Chinese fans he wouldn't be that big a deal.
Yao and T-Mac are so good they've never won a playoff series. They must get along with Tony Romo really well.
So, you mean Jefferson > Amare & Shaq
Remember when Lebron dunked on TD and displayed that poster on the Cav's locker? What happened after that?
ok so attempting to block dunks and gettin dunkd on is called soft?
go yourself you dumb ot ass moron,
NBA should promote this and allow centers/pfs more contact when attempting to block shots, non of this tic tac bs for wing players....
Al Jefferson repeatedly owns Tim Duncan offensively when Timmy tries to guard him. No big deal, Big Al is a handful for every single big man in the league.
Al is good. Thats how this thread should have started. Hes one of those rare small bigs who can slam on anyone. Id take him over any of our bigs.
He's not as soft as Shawn Bradley was........
Are threads like this really what Spurstalk is coming to?![]()
Yao Ming isn't soft.
But for being 7'6 and his body size, he should average more rebounds honestly.
he's injury prone, that doesn't mean he's soft.
he's still the best C in the league.
Of course when I talk about bigs on our team. Timmy is never included. And btw, I thought it was Fab who was soft not Timmy.
