NBA TV analyst Steve Smith just name dropped Joe Smith possibly joining the Celtics. He is still close friends with Kevin Garnett, and with Mutombo not going to the champs, he may be on his way...

I doubt Smith would make a difference. That team is stacked.
They are really hurting depth-wise. They play Brian Scalabrine which should tell you how much they need another offensive big option.
Boston could use another big man backing up KG and Perkins. Powe and Davis are good players but they are too undersized to be able to handle Bynum.

He has expressed interest in coming back to the Cavs. He said last week he would love to come back if the Cavs wanted him back
Smith is awful and has always been awful. This is about as meaningful as Glenn Robinson coming to the Spurs.

LOL yes Smith was trying to sound important, and probably read my or someone else's rumor sheet before he went on the air.
As for McDyess, yeah he shouldve gone to Boston, I think he may regret that now.
