Will Jerry ever shelve at least part of the ego and turn the reigns over to actual football people? That's what it will take.

Wade is one of the best DCs in the game, but his demeanor makes him bar none one of the worst HCs in history.

This team needs a real coaching staff to provide and inspire leadership and direction.
so it's wade's fault Romo turns the ball over 3 times a game the past two weeks?

In the end you gotta perform on the field and once again the cowboys buckled under the pressure on the field and died.

Good news cowboys fans at least you'll get a pretty decent 1st round pick in april... oh wait you traded away half your draft for Roy Williams and his 2 catches for 8 yards. Jerry for GM of the year!

No...but it is his fault that Wade and his staff brings no sense of discipline to this team. Why should Romo be more protective and conservative with the ball? It's not like anyone is going to get in his face and hold him accountable. Also, the staff's game planning is atrocious. The Cowboys abandoned the run around the start of the 2nd quarter...

I would still make that deal, Williams will be good once TO is gone and a real coach can show this group of receivers to actually run routes instead of just running around until you get open. Sherman sucks...

he's the GM. he put this entire mess together.
Coaching staff aside, his player decisions seemed pretty spot on at the time they were done. I don't think anyone would blame this collapse on the lack of player talent assembled on this team.

It's the coaching staffs fault that the team isn't ready to play and always looks to be off or at least not on the same page. Romo has been throwing into coverage for a while and nothing has been done to correct that. At least Bill and Sporano coached him into making better decisions with the ball, this staff doesn't look to have any effect, and that's probably because there seems to be no discipline or accountability at any level on that team.

he's gotta hold himself accountable at some point. well, he probably won't, and the mediocrity will continue.

The Cowboys problems all reside with their owner.

If your a cowboy fan your ed because that ain't changing.

When the owner is arrogant enough to think hes a smart enough football man to be the GM, your in a bit of trouble.

The team will never win another super bowl until Jerry Jones decides to cede control of the football operations over to football minds who know better.

If he had a brain he would give full football control and coaching ability over to Bill Cowher. Cowher however will never want to be a part of that pathetic circus that is that franchise.

i don't think it's a good idea to have a coach/GM anymore. give the coach a lot of input on who is acquired, but merely being an NFL coach is an 18 hour job these days.

Wade Phillips isn't worried about his job security. He doesn't need to be.

Jerry Jones declared this week that Phillips wouldn't be fired no matter what happened today. Jerry stuck to his guns after the Cowboys were completely humiliated by the Eagles with a playoff berth at stake.

"This is obviously very disappointing right now," Jerry said, "but we won't have a head coaching change."

Jerry reiterated that he believe the Cowboys had a core in place -- players and coaches -- to contend for several years. He stressed that continuity would be a key to the Cowboys fulfilling their potential.

"Really, that would be the No. 1 thing that I would be looking at in retaining Wade," said Jerry, who obviously isn't looking at the results of this disastrous season.

I think we will see a surprise "resignation" by Wade...followed by a Jerry press conference explaining how "disappointed" he is with Wade's decision. Face will be saved...

That will be one of the "surprise" resignations that happens every off season.

Wouldn't shock me for that to happen.

Problem is is that Opie Garrett who couldn't draw up an offensive play if his life depended on it would be the puppet errr coach.
