We shouldve traded him when his value was high....haha
Just simply take a look at his stats after the Phoneix game. He lost his feeling offensively and he can't guard the paint at all. (Sometimes I even think Tolliver is better than him) Too bad we can't do anything to him when two of our big men are out ( Fab and Mahinmi). well, we don't want to start kurt because he's aged.
Bonner has definitely achieved something earlier this season but I don't really think that he can keep it up and he'll gradually become sloppy once again.
So let's not heistate to trade him
We shouldve traded him when his value was high....haha
oh, well. it was good while it lasted.
Super Bonner is saving it for the PlayOffs .
Yeah I'm not sure what has happened to Bonner but he's basically done nothing in the last few weeks. He stopped scoring, rebounding and playing D.
Dude you know what
The duty and function of Bonner is 3 point shooting (Roger Mason and Bonner are taking the lead in 3 point%)
So don't mad at him, he has done his best
I'm gonna guess hes tired from the minutes.
Or maybe its just a bigass slump.
Facts is facts.
We don't have the bigs outside of Duncan to be a force on defense.
he had some hot streaky games and nothing more.
I never really bought into the Bonner hype. I knew it was a matter of time till he gets pulled from the starting lineup. Its just that we are short on Bigs so we need someone to start.![]()
anyone see during the second quarter, when duncan had that off balance and1 against bogut, tim walked to the line and bonner went up to chest bump him and tim pushed him away, like, dude we are down, dont celebrate! lol hahaah it was hilarious.
I know Bonner has been stinking it up lately, but I had to comment on the "sometimes I think Tolliver is better" comment. Tolliver is terrible...flat out. He looks absolutely lost on the court and isn't hitting his shots.
I don't know what the situation is with his contract (when it becomes fully guaranteed), but I think he's only still on this team because the other bigs are old or injured.
How is he "lost"
His shot making being off doesn't equal being lost.
Hes passing great and has a good nose for the rebounding of the ball.
When is freaking Norberto back???
I think some of it has to do with Bonner not being involved in the offense much. The rest is on Bonner. He needs to play better. He's had a few bad games and you can't just keep having bad games. You've got to step up and start playing again.
I'd characterize his play as "frenetic". Yes he has good energy, but it doesn't seem to be focused. While in the half-court set it didn't appear that he knew where to be or was comfortable.
Add his poor shooting into the mix and you have a player that shouldn't see any court time with the Spurs.
this is the true bonner
he isnt good enough to be a starter but the spurs have nobody else. i think its time KT came back into the starting lineup.
everyone jumped on bonner after his 5-or-so game fluke span, but the way he played tonight is how he truly is.
I think he's not used to all the minutes...he's been been riding the pine for 2 years and now he's starting on a defense oriented team.
Bench him for a few games...
that hornets game hurt him i think. his confidence was dropped so low that game it hasnt come back to him yet.
If that's the case... we need to look into getting rid of him... You don't want a guy whose confidence is low for whatever reason ....it's the NBA FcK it...
To me it's not a confidence problem... he's just playing bad... he'll be back to normal.
He is 28 years old and he can not handle 24 minutes a game or so?
Because he's not used to expending that much energy. It's not like being 28 and on a pro-basketball team automatically guarantees you the cardio-vascular system of a pro-basketball player....it's something that has to be attained and built up to, not something that just is because you are 28 and in the NBA.
Try not to be so simple minded ploto...
Bonner is Roberthorrying
Bonner hasn't played well lately. He is in a slump and I'm curious to see what will happen for a couple of reasons.
First, a big, and maybe even the main, reason why Bonner struggled in the past was thinking too much. The more you struggle, the more you think at what you do on the court. It could be a downside spiral for Bonner and it will be interesting to see how/if he will break it.
Second, Pop said earlier in the season that he trusted Bonner (alongside Mason and Hill) and that he would keep him in the rotation even if he had a bad stretch. Pop now faces this scenario and we will see if he sticks to his words.
I think Pop was talking about his shooting...not his overall game. If Bonner isn't rebounding Pop isn't going to stay with him long. Rebounding is effort plain and simple.
