Three NBA executives say that the Golden State Warriors are pushing Corey Maggette hard in trade talks. Other players that executives say are available include Philadelphia 76ers center Sam Dalembert, Charlotte Bobcats guard Raymond Felton and forward Adam Morrison, Chicago Bulls forward Drew Gooden and guard Larry Hughes and Sacramento Kings center Brad Miller.

I know many wanted Maggs here before the season, and now don't want him. Thats understandable because of his "me first" playing style. But Dalembert would be a decent pick up for the post position, I just don't know who we would give up. No one else on there really catches my attention.

Dalembert would be awesome to have, but his salary is way too big to put together a decent offer.

Dalembert is making 10,11 and 12 millions for the next 3 years...

Decent shot blocker but low BBIQ.

Dalembert would be a nice addition as we are in need of an extra big. Couldnt hurt as long as we dont give up much.

Dalembert would be fine if he wasn't as dumb as Francisco Elson.

How can Spurs get him, not touching Gino or Parker ?? He earns 10 mln $, and I bet that 76ers don`t need Bonner, Vaughn, 2nd round pick and other that Spurs may offer them

Yup. If I was going to pay that much for a center I'd go after Kaman before Dalembert.

While I don't think the 2010 plan should be set in stone, Spurs should only break it for a quite significant player. Dalembert is way too average to break it. I easily pass on him.

    For the other names :
Maggette : No, his contract is too bad.
Felton : No, Hill has the huge edge to be locked with a cheap contract for 3 more years while Felton will get a new and quite big contract next summer.
    Morrison : No, he sucks.
Gooden: Maybe if he is available for cheap.
Hughes : No, Spurs don't need a mediocre guard like him.
Miller : No, he sucks. He is one of the most overrated player in the NBA.

So among all these players, Gooden is the only half interesting name.

Yeah..and he is expiring after this season too. I'd do Gooden for Bonner straight up if Chicago would bite. Vaughn would probably have to go too as a filler for it all to match. I doubt they would though.

I would trade Bonner/Vaughn/Udoka for Gooden in a second. Good hustle player, creates his own shot, good rebounder.

I am down for Drew Gooden. Out of all the trade talks this year and pick ups...I think this one sounds the most realistic.

I like the Bonner/Udoka/Vaugh plus draft picks or $$$ (would we have cap space?)

    Drew NBA $7,151,183

    Bonner $2,978,000
    Udoka $1,080,000
    Vaughn $1,262,275

Even though it might never happen. A trade for Drew Gooden makes the most sense and is the most realistic out of any trade possibilities I have heard of this year.

That being said I think he would be a very good addition. He would definitely add some interior toughness.

Correct me if I am wrong here...when adding up players salaries for a trade it is the players whole salary and not just the year we are in, right?

    huh Gooden??
talking about overrated players. why do you people think he's reportedly on the block, despite being a PF with nice size and athleticismn, who just enters his prime?
well, he just isn't good. he's probably the worst defender playing the PF position. the day he gets a rotation right will be the day they bring down MJs statue in Chicago. his scoring numbers look decent, but in fact he's a totally inefficient scorer, who also will never be a usefull part of ball movement. he passes the ball as often as he blocks a shot, which happens as often as February 29th. he's a bit the PF version of Ronald Murray.
his rebounding is quite good though and that might be the only thing that would provide significant help in the current situation of the Spurs front court.
(btw. Chris Wilcox isn't on this list, but there were some rumors he might be as well available as Gooden. he also has a lot of flaws, but I think he would be a better fit for a lower price. the price for Gooden will be a 1st round pick anyhow.)

Why do you people claim to be Spurs fans if you have no idea what kind of players may someday wind up on the roster?
    1) They must be smart
    2) They cannot be stupid
    3) They must be a bargain.
    4) They must not cost much

Dalembert is as dumb as a bag of hammers. Gooden is a lazy who has worn out his welcome in four towns now. They both make way too much to not bust payroll. Pop/RC aren't going to trade 3-4 rotation players for some lazy .

He dropped 17 pts on Spurs in the 4th qtr a few years ago, with some help from Mighty Mouse, 2003?, bottom-dwelling Blazers beat the Spurs @POR.

Haven't really heard from Dalembert much since then. I agree with T_Park, he must be kinda dumb and/or lazy (or stoned), certainly has more physical gifts than bb IQ.

I was wondering why people weren't bringing this up. Gooden is a horrible, horrible defender. I don't think he'd fit here at all.

    yep.
the spurs team management arent not idiots. they are not going to blow our le hopes by trading so many important players

they are planning to land a decent player in the free agent market in a couple of years.

Brad Miller is the only one on that list that makes sense. His deal is up 2010, he can shoot outside including the 3, decent rebounder, no D though. Probably have to give up Ian for him but might be worth it in the short term.

the only thing Gooden uses for defense is just his bald head that can dismiss the opponents' attention. I mean, he has no awareness or skills or athletism to use.
