what genre?
Which song do you like ?
His username is "Rapper"
So I'll give you the very few rap songs I have liked in my lifetime.
- 2pac
"Changes"
"Me Against the World"
"Until the End of Time"
"Ratha Be Ya "
and a few others
Just from what's on my desk right now:
Norah Jones (Feels Like Home):
"Sunrise, Sunrise."
"What am I to You?"
"Creepin' In"
While it can be repe ive, her voice is addictive.
Rascal Flatts (Greatest Hits):
"I Melt"
"Stand"
"I'm Movin' On"
"Skin (Sarabeth)"
This is more longing and yearning than anything else.
Leann Rhimes (Family):
"Nothin' Better to Do"
"Good Friend and a Glass of Wine."
"Doesn't Everybody"
"Nothin' Wrong"
"Pretty Things"
"One Day Too Long"
"What I cannot Change"
"Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore"
This is about the power of writing and great arrangements. It's got some message to it, but I just like LeeAnn's style on this record.
Alabama (Greatest 20 Hits):
Born Country
Reckless
Song of the South
I'm in a Hurray (and Don't Know why)
There's No Way
Old school country. These guys have had stars and bars on their album. Don't listen if you don't like the South.

Rapper this is very popular in the states at the moment.
Who can recommend some R&B genre?
If you like R&B, check out Brian McKnight. His Superhero album is one of my favorite. This is one of my favorite songs:
Okay, well the video won't work here, but check out a couple of his songs:

My tastes are common and a little old. Etta James, Ray Charles, BabyFace, Billie Holiday, Brian McKnight, Alicia Keys, and Rihanna.
IMO, there is really only one R&B song that demands listening. And that's Kiss from a Rose, by Seal. That or Waterfalls by TLC.
At Last is one of the greatest songs ever.
How could I forget Stevie Wonder?

well
"Rather Be Ya " by 2pac is about a "player" who is convincing a very attractive woman to cheat on her boyfriend. He doesn't want anything serious, just to use recreational drugs and have sexual intercourse together. She says no at first, but she eventually begs him to spend time with her.
It's a touching story.
Speaking of Seal, I like this one too:
This was originally a blues song, redone for big band. Please noone give me crap about Michael Buble. I ing love this song.
