Just letting everyone know that a new sports site/forum is up and running. It has been going for about three months now and it has 280+ members. They are really looking for more Basketball fans, as there Basketball section is quite dead at the moment. So please check it out and consider joining today.

Not sure mate. You would have to take that up with the forum staff. I only advertise the site.
"friendly advertisement" on a site like ours that gets 7-8 million page views a month would cost a pretty penny.

I don't mind our regular posters posting about their own sites. But registering here just to advertise your site is obnoxious.

Just PM it to me and I'll pass it on to the staff.
They'll mostly just ban you. You can't just go around trying to leech off other's traffic.
If you want to advertise, then pay for advertising. Otherwise, provide good content, it will get indexed in search engines, and people will come. Going around spam advertising will just have you end up like the other 100,000 sports forums on the internet with just a handful of users.
