Nop
Yep.
Millsap is so ing cool. Working his way onto my favorite 3 NBA players ever list.
Not too sure, the guy can play. Watching him with extended minutes. He certainly is a much better defender than Boozer.
I think they should try and move Boozer for a better sg
Millsaps is more athletic and beefy, but boozer is still way better than him, and the other PFs as well. I would rank him 2nd in the west, just behind TD.
Boozer can shoot the ball with either his right hand or his left one, the only other one roster who can also do this is just RaWallace who is in the East. Everyone can shoot the ball with both of their hands individually but they just can't get the ball in the hoop. Boozer is undoubtedly a geniuse.
At this point we just need to move him for anything. We're fine at SG between Brewer and Korver, but Boozer needs to go. An opposing GM would be an absolute idiot to trade for the pile of known as Carlos Boozer, but there are plenty of idiot GM's out there; so get the on it, Kevin O'Conner.
As somebody who's watched every Jazz game Boozer's ever played in (or more often, sat out injured) and a lot of his Cavs games, I would like to figuratively slap you for saying something so ridiculous.
And I'm sorry, I know the point of this thread should be to explain why Millsap's better, but it's a foregone conclusion in my mind and I don't have the energy or given the Jazz's season, the emotional wherewithal to spell out the litany of terrible facts about Carlos Boozer.
I have seen some really nice post moves as well from Millsap. He shows good patience, nice foot work and a pretty good touch. I think Boozer is better offensively right now, but Millsap is good and is improving. But their is no question, Millsap d>>>>>>>>>>Boozer d
Boozer is a great offensive player, to me the 2nd best offensive PF in the league (behind Dirk). Millsap is good player with a lot of athletic ability but that benefits too much of Sloan's style of play. He can't post up, and he doesn't have a very good jump shot.
He's got just a killer step back 15 footer too. I personally feel like Boozer has a more refined offensive game, i.e. a more finesse game. The problem is all that pretty finesse fades into weak, soft, anytime Boozer has to play against good defense. In other words, there's a reason he falls apart in the playoffs.
So I'll take Millsap offensively. I'd rather be getting 18 points from a guy who's getting them in a strong manner and will consistently do so in spite of good defense, than 20-25 extremly soft, boozer-finesse points that you know wouldn't be there if the defense was good.
And yeah, defensively Boozer's not even even close. And effort wise he's not even close. And he's always hurt. And he takes a long time to recover from injuries. And he's a greedy . Millsap FTW x20,000
You shouldn't post if you literally have no idea, zero clue, as to what you're talking about. Millsap has an excellent jumpshot... and he can post up.
I argued strongly that Boozer >>> Millsap before the season began. I was wrong about Millsap, i knew he was good, but not this good.
At this point a healthy Boozer>Millsap. If i were to keep one it would definately be Millsap given Boozer's injury history, playoff chokes, lack of defense and most importantly age. Millsap is still only 23
An excellent jumpshot? you're kidding right? and if he can post up why doesn't he do it more often? I've watched more Jazz games than Spurs games this season and I don't recall a single post play by Millsap
You have not watched the Jazz this season. Or if you have, you've been completely inattentive. Millsap's got a turnaround stepback that's as good as any in the league. He goes to it all the time. And that's creating his own shot. He's been able to hit the open 15 footer since he came into the league.
And while he doesn't post a ton, because Memo and Deron are usually better options in the post, that's not the same as not having a post game. When he does go into the low post I've seen him pull off some incredibly savvy moves. And in fact, he spends quite a bit of time in the high post. And he's a great passer from there as well.
Massive fail. Boozer second best offensive PF in the league? Have you never watched Stoudemire, Duncan or Bosh?
And Millsap is a beast. He's been a beast since he's come into the league -- he's just now finally getting the minutes he's long deserved. Plus he's added a lot to his game to where he might not be as technically sound as Boozer, but he can make up for it with better effort on both sides of the court.
That pretty much hits it on the head. Millsap is quality. That is not to say Boozer is worthless. But clearly Millsap deserves his minutes. If I am Utah and I get any kind of offer for some talent, I take it.
Duncan is the best overall player by far but to me Boozer is better at the offensive end, Stoudemire is a beast but he doesn't have a post up game and I accept that I haven't watch too much of Bosh so I can't compare him with Boozer. But either way Carlos is up there in the elite when it comes to offensive PF.
Yeah, until you throw Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom at him. forget Pau and Odom, Boozer's completely folded against Carl Landry.
I'm talking from a pure technicall point of view, I've never mentioned his state of heart/mind.
I am too. And technically, during last years playoffs I think he averaged like 14 points on 38% shooting or something awful like that.
Boozer gives off the "loser mentality vibe" to me. The same mentality that plagues Rasheed Wallace, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Josh Howard, Corey Maggette, etc. These guys dont seem like winners on the basketball court. He gets paid and coasts. From that standpoint, I'd prefer Millsap. Plus Boozer was an absolute pussy in the playoffs last year, huge vagina.
