I don't believe SC should be #1.
People downplayed the 2005 Rose Bowl when Texas beat Michigan. Then after struggling like to beat a depleted Aggie team 40-29, Texas had no chance in of beating a team like USC.![]()
I don't believe SC should be #1.
Fair enough then. I dont mind you saying Texas isnt a real #1 if you can admit the same about USC. Carry on.
The entire point of this season is that there IS NO CONSENSUS NUMBER ONE TEAM.
If you dispute this, you are an over the hill Ginger, just like Tshlong.
And the AP means . I still get frustrated when peope talk about "USC's 2003 Championship" when it doesn't exist. Unless the AP#1 plays the BCS le winner, I couldn't give two s.
if your going to give texas the ap for beating ohio st. shouldent you give a piace to usc they beat them also, but damn what about utah and the winner of thursday's game now its just getting out of had the bcs (and it helped my team this year) we need a playoff.
Ding ding ding ding! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.
C'mon Utah played a great game against Bama but don't forget they play in the Mountain West.
With the way things turned out, I'd be content with a second place finish not third (timvp).
don't let the facts get in your way.
that would be like getting excited about the lotto, yeah there's always a chance. That's a load of crap and you know it. Everybody and their dog knew that UT wanted to come out and make a statement that they belonged in the Championship game, and maybe even get the AP vote as Champs if OU beat Florida. They had plenty to be excited about.
who's tearing down USC? Experience tells us don't believe the USC hype. With that said, USC has spectacular athletes.Maybe you Big 12 fans shouldn't spend so much time next season trying to tear down USC and the rest of the Pac-10 in order to build your conference up.
Earth to IceCold. Then you won't have to spend so much time making excuses to try and cover all your smack talk when it backfires.
actually it would probably get them second. i doubt OU or Florida (whomever loses) will stay ahead of them.
stick to basketball.
Utah will be ranked 2nd when Oklahoma gets blown out
he also underthrew a deep ball that should have been a TD...
my favorite part of this season was the plague of tech fans and then their immediate exodus following the ou game. a few stuck around, but they left as well following the ass-whoopin' by ole miss.
great season, and next year i'll have a sports pass![]()
Since in the grand scheme of things the Fiesta Bowl was meaningless (hurray, tiny chance at topping the AP poll), I was so happy to get a fantastic game to watch my team play in. Props to the Buckeyes for a tremendous effort. , props to my liver for surviving that roller-coaster of a contest.
All three of UT's BCS games have been instant classics. Don't know if that's something to be proud of. As a fan and an alum it makes you live and die with every snap.
def another insta classic but i would have also loved an ass whooping.
... early in the season at home without OSU's best player playing and a pure freshman QB with no experience. USC played a different team than Texas did and also played at home.
As much as I love USC's defense I can't give them national le consideration because they never played a big road game against a big time team. Even the Rose Bowl is a home game.
UT Fan is the most sensitive fan in existence.
wells is pretty good. pryor is very quick, but he can barely throw.
yes, yes they would.
well, the game against ohio state wasn't even close and could have been worse. how about the fact that SC beat the crap out of a penn state team that worked ohio state @ ohio state? either way, USC is a great team...big road win or not. but you don't have to give them any love...
only a freshman. the last 2 number 1 QB prospects coming out were: Jimmy Clausen, who throws just a little bit better than Pryor as a Sop re, and Mitch Mustain who doesn't even play. If Pryor can develop the way Vince Young did, and the same way Troy Smith did under Tressel he will be a fantastic QB. The guy was still in High School last year at this time.
Last night is why Texas wasn't in the national championship. They're just too damn inconsistent. Against OU and Mizzou, Texas was amazing. They looked like they could have beaten the Detroit Lions. But against Tech, Texas spent the first half looking like a high school team. And against Oklahoma State, Texas looked uninspired, like they were just going through the motions.
Last night, we saw both good Texas and bad Texas. OU, on the other hand, has played very well in every game of the season, including their loss the Texas. OU, though.
Clearly you haven't spent enough time dealing with UTSA fan.
