Oregon State too, right?
for the beauty pageant that is college football you're right. In a playoff system who knows?
Oregon State too, right?
true. but timvp makes a good point.
if you are talking about right now? yes, they would. as well as ing destroy that podunk university tekk. even though Mike (Sami) said he would take tekk over the Trojans. whoops.
USC would beat Texas. And if USC wanted to run plays by not letting teams subs ute they would never have lost a game in the last 5 years, USC plays the way the game is meant to be played
how can you be so sure? do you remember the last time people were so sure that USC would beat Texas .
he said "if". btw, i understand t.u. fan being proud of their team, that was a huge win. why doesn't anyone acknowledge how sloppy and out of character SC played? that was the 1-2 times t.u. wins that game out of 10. be happy.
...thunder dan is on fire. he should keep shooting 3s, they are worth more.
Texas had a top-five all-time college player on the field that night, and were still VERY fortunate to win, not to take credit away from them. McCoy is terrific, but he isn't in VY's league.
That said, it's hard to really judge USC at this time every year, because they always play their bowl game practically at home against an opponent from a weak conference. I'd love to see the Trojans play Florida in Miami, and see what happens.
t.u. fan doesn't look at it that way...they struggle with thought. but true, they were very fortunate to beat SC. but they did, so good for them.
as for SC at the end of the year...be fair. sometimes they play very strong teams and just make them look weak, there is a difference. their run of BCS games has included 2 at the orange bowl and that didn't matter much. plus, look at the road games SC plays out of conference early in the year...they destroy teams on the road.
that being said, i wanted to go to the fiesta this year and roll t.u.. it would have been ugly.
Texas would have beaten SC 7 out of 10 times. But we could argue that forever which SC likes to do because Scoreboard isn't to their liking.![]()
How were they fortunate? To me it was the ultimate win win game. Texas got the victory and USC fan has a lifetime of excuses.
that's a good take. That said, it's hard to really judge USC at this time every year, because they always play their bowl game practically at home against an opponent from a weak conference. I'd love to see the Trojans play Florida in Miami, and see what happens.
I basing this on USC lining up across from us and beating us handily playing football the way the creators of the game intended it to be played. They didn't run a hurry up all game because they couldn't match-up without it. I know I sound like I have bitter grapes but I have said this on here about Peyton Manning for 2 years. If every QB on every team across every football league played like Texas did against tOSU did last night, football would be unwatchable. I don't care to watch a offense run plays just to draw penalties, it's cheesen
do you realize how gay that sounds?
the most compe ive bowl game so far unwatchableThey didn't run a hurry up all game because they couldn't match-up without it. I know I sound like I have bitter grapes but I have said this on here about Peyton Manning for 2 years. If every QB on every team across every football league played like Texas did against tOSU did last night, football would be unwatchable. I don't care to watch a offense run plays just to draw penalties, it's cheesenoh yeah.. sour grapes.
I'm not saying they didn't deserve to win, just that they were fortunate to win. I thought USC controlled most of the game, they just couldn't stop VY when it counted, and they made some unforced mistakes along the way. I'm an Ohio State fan, I don't have a dog in the fight here.
so you would like to watch a game where there is no Defense at all, and about 20 offsides penalties and 20 12-men on the field penalties all game long? It defeats the purpose of the game. Yes it's within the rules, but it's cheesing your opponent because you know you couldn't win without it.
umm, OK. USC has scoreboard over everybody. there isn't a single program close to what SC has accomplished the last 7 years. SC doesn't have fall off each year.
USC plays the game the same way the opponent does. They run the ball, they pass the ball, and they play defense. That is why they don't kill every team. They don't go pick out 5 ft 5 track stars and turn them into a running back like Florida and LSU do- and they don't put a guy 12 feet behind the center and throw 3 yard outs 70+ times a game and run plays just so teams are forced into penalties or not being able to subs ute.
They line up and beat the other team like real men, and don't act like pussies ans hide behind gimmick to try to pull out wins.
SC has an excellent program and one of my favorite coaches, so forgive me if it sounded like I was trying to dog them.
C'mon I know this was going here. Then why not say Texas is second among college winniest programs ever.....because they are. It's obvious USC and Texas are great great teams.
There's pleanty of homer fans of both programs.
Uh-huh, and playing two QB's at a time is caveman football.
What non Big 12 fans don't realize is that Texas can't run the ball. Nobody I know wants UT to throw that much - you know the saying: three things happen when you throw and two are bad. At Ohio State, Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzie Whittaker would be playing wideout. But when there's nobody back there to pound the rock you do what you gotta do.
I think some Michigan fan said after SC lost to OSU that "Teama have figured out their gimmick offense" All I really could do after that was laugh.
In a sensitivity scale

SC fan is to be close thirded (for Ducks).
USC would have beat down the Horns this year.
Ohio St was a fraud in a weak conference that had no business being in a BCS game....
and the Horns needed a last second miracle to win.
Who would you have picked over the Buckeyes? Boise? Georgia Tech?
